I click on gamepads/joystick in the controls options

I use a Playstation 3 controller. It works perfectly in a similar game called Level-R.

In LFS it shows me that the gamepad is there but when i click on gamepad/joystick the game flickers, re-appears for a second then I get the LFS encountered a problem error that people so often see on their XP machine.

Is there anything I can do?

what are your system specs? have you tried a clean lfs install?
