The online racing simulator
Do you have $40?

Yes? Buy Live for Speed S2!

No? Do not buy Live for Speed. Save your money or get a job or something. Then buy Live for Speed!
I just asked, And i used a DEBIT card. Just tell the peeps at the bank that ur gonna make a payment over the ocean cuz they locked the card up for saftey reasons
For me S2 is well worth it.
S1 alone is sort of "useless", I don't see the point in buying it.
My suggestion steer well clear of S1 and buy S2.
Quote from Chrisuu01 :My suggestion steer well clear of S1 and buy S2.

Seeing as he asked the question 2 weeks ago and he still hasn't bought a license I think he isn't convinced yet

Quote from Chrisuu's sig :The picture in my avatar was made by me if u want it you can contact me.

...or... they can just rightclick your avatar and save it to their computer? It doesn't surprise me that it was made by you, by the way, as there's a spelling mistake in it
Why does everybody say S1 is a waste of money? You buy it anyways if you buy S2
Quote from John5200 :Why does everybody say S1 is a waste of money? You buy it anyways if you buy S2

I didn't mean it is a waste of money...if you don't have the money to buy S2, well in the meantime buy S1, better than nothing.
But it's a waste of...opportunity. S2 gives so much more in terms of content, the main thing being many more servers to race online, a valid reason to save some extra $ to buy S2.
don't buy, LFS is underdeveloped, old with direct x8.0, a bad sound engine where regular style mp3 types would be more suitable.

You can get past all this, but LFS is dwindling, the amount of arseholes running servers now are insane and making it way to serious. Theres very little fun to be had. I personally don't even play lfs anymore, go try iracing, rfactor or one of the simbin games.
its surely worth all the fun and friends you make in the servers that you go to that are good

and the more people who buy,the more money the devs will be getting, the higher demand/more motivation, and more content earlier

I dunno there, I loved lfs but I've lost faith.

Fixed

If you were indeed serious, you can't be a fan of driving cars. The sound engine and tiresimulation may not be perfect yet, but the feeling of driving a car is quite good already. Iracing, i give you that, has some strong points (having huge real-data and actual race driver support) and is quite realistic, but Simbim-games/rfactor are just cheap. While the sound may be like their real counter parts.. somewhat.. alone shifting or let-off the throttle is just pure fail, IHMO. No need to talk about handling...
you lost faith, fair enough....cant force you to have faith....but admit it, for the 24 pounds (or whatever currency you paid) it was worth every cent the things you have learned, the friends you made, the memories you shared, and for the most part good clean racing
IMO don't buy it now....
Quote from rainspecialist :
It was fun but got boring, im thinking its because its the same car class and the track is so repetitive now.

What racing series do you do IRL next season? again karts? does it not get repetitive?

Seriously, S2 contains alot more cars and tracks, that will keep you buisy for the next 30 years, if you enjoyed the demo for that long already.
Wait for S3.

:chairfall
<!--------- I have had S2 since 2006.

My poor connection and region atm is my limitation online.

But last week I put in 350 laps offline in the BF1 for Aston Testing, and approx 200 more for KY3. Plus many on the Oval for KY1 suspension improvements.

I am addicted to S2.

But to be honest (DONT TRY THIS)....

Before I bought it ... I had it cracked just to try it out privatly.... as a 'S2 Trial' so to speak.
I bought LFS in full only a week later after that. And now I am still around (as a ghost) in 2010...

This is the first time I am mentioning this here. But some people have their reasons. If you intend to buy it, I think it's moderately ok. If you don't. - I Will Kill Youuuuuu, and so will Scawen.

I will be buying a second account soon, because we are promoting it at the company I work for, this last weekend I showed off LFS at our new store's Grand Opening, and a Lan Party was run until 1AM.

I would kill to find a good event that runs on only saturdays (Harare/Pretoria timezone).... Particularly if it was the Fragmaster 360 degree event on KY1....

If this doesn't convince you to buy LFS and support our great and (moderately) patient developers, then I dont know what will... considering how long you have been a demo driver.

There are alot of dedicated members of the LFS community here, it looks like you could easily become part of the S2 croud of dedicated drivers that will probably never leave. SO do it, I dare you... BUY S2.... then BUY S3 whenever it appears in the next decade.....
Quote from JPeace :As i beleive, "s2 cracking" has been banned and is unable to happen for many years now. But n1 for admitting that on a bloody forum

lol? he bought a licnese after all, so what. He didn't say he cracked it himself but used a cracked version.

Just out of interest, what do you mean by "cracking banned". Any software can be cracked.. its just a decision to do it or not.
Two years on demo and you like it. Buy it ! There is no reason to wait.
Quote from JPeace :Ofc any software can be cracked, but you get caught, then your in deep crap.

I was jsut saying, why would you admit that you have cracked something on a forum, where anyone can see it and save it?

well, why do people post screens of modded content which is kind of the same matter, in the end. But in this case, CodieMorgan was just making a point, that it's definitely worth the few pound it costs. Personally i find it hard to even think about it when you've tested the demo extensively(4years) and read the forums, seeing the content people do (textures, skins, sounds,...)

I spend that cash on a nice luch or a few drink on the weekend or whatever.

PS: yes, im aware he might be 14 or whatever and does'nt have his won money...
=)

I appreciate it, to those that understood my point.

But i think we drifting slightly off topic now =/
S1 is not a waste of money, but you get almost nothing from it. I wonder why they offer it for sale. You get some cars but no servers to play. And everyone knows lfs is for multiplayer. So this is a big - for me.
I wonder why there are no Blackwood servers with more cars. Is blackwood a DEMO track only?
Well, I did install rFactor , but the driving experience is no where comparable to this sim. So.. I might to plunge into the deep and purchase S2. (rfactor sucks a alittle, right?)
Thing about rFactor is that its very customizeable (infinite combinations), and there are some great mods with great physics and matched with that a friendly open atmostphere that I just don't feel with LFS anymore. iRacing is great but is sooo expensive, buy content PLUS have to pay subscription, but this guarantees content updates
Quote from TwiceDead :don't buy, LFS is underdeveloped, old with direct x8.0, a bad sound engine where regular style mp3 types would be more suitable.

based on your above quote, you quite obviously have no idea what the more important aspects of a simulation are. Therefore, your opinion means nothing.
It's all about the bling and tunez dude!!1!one!!!
