One Billion Km
Not to long before the 1 Tm barrier is broken. At the moment of writing, the mark is at 994,952,803 Km. Will there be fire works? Will there be an announcement? I know it's just a statistic, but it does show how successful LFS is.

Let's celebrate in advance! Hurray! :elefant:
No.

There is no need for it.....

Ofcourse there is no need for it. But every year people count down in front of a clock to see it move past 00:00. This 1 GKm (or 1 Tm to be more scientifically correct) mark is even more rare. People like numbers
What do you mean with Fireworks? Ingame? This isnt possible yet. You should try DiRT2.
I misread what part of the forum this was in for a minute then and thought you had a real car approaching 1 million km!

That would have been some kind of record i guess.

I once had a 1985 vauxhall nova (opel corsa) that had done 248,164 miles (399,381 km) when i sold it, but needless to say it smoked like hell!

Not Really...

I had a volvo 740 with 360,000 km on the gauge, wasnt any problem whatsoever with the car... no smoke, didnt take oil, no rattle... just a bit soft in the suspension.

My parents had one just like it with 470,000 km and still working perfectly when they sold it.

Thats quality
It's a little known fact that Volvo's can survive the rapture.
My ranger has 370k miles on it, my dad's F-150 had around 500k miles on on it before some lady decided to speed in torrential downpour, totalling his truck

You mean less scientifically correct, right? T is the SI denotation for 10^12 whether you use the long or short scale.
Do you mean, a single persons milegae, or a total milage of every LFS player ?

Engage brain and guess.

There was me thinking it was the total distance walked to their PC's daily.

TBH it shows the popularity of LFS, but that Volvo is amazing. I thought the couple of cars my dads taken over 400k was high.
It is good that.....Thank you

1 billion Km = 1000.000.000 * 1000 m am I right? I think you over looked the fact I was talking about meters, not Ks.

Oh I see. Why would you do that, this isn't science class.

I just know the problem compared with german language.

German:
1.000.000=1 Million
1.000.000.000=1 Millarde
1.000.000.000.000=1 Billion

English:
1.000.000=1 Million
1.000.000.000=1 Billion
1.000.000.000.000=1 Trillion
English
1,000,000 = one million
1,000,000,000 = one thousand million
1,000,000,000,000 = one billion

American
1,000,000 = warn millyarn
1,000,000,000 = warn billyarn
1,000,000,000,000 = warn trillyarn

Now that makes it even more confusing. I guess my english teachers sucked.

Have you been listening to Nolan Scott on broadcast interviews?
Quote from pik_d :Have you been listening to Nolan Scott on broadcast interviews?

Erm... no.
To clarify (from wikipedia):
Billion may refer to:

In numbers:
Long and short scales
1,000,000,000 (number), one thousand million, 10^9, in the commonly used short scale
1,000,000,000,000 (number), one million million, 10^12, in the long scale

In german we always use the long scale.

So, given the current numbers, we are closing in on overall 10^9 - or 1 billion in the english commonly used short scale - kilometers overall driven in LFS since introduction of lfsworld the way we have it. That's really a milestone!
Total driven distance 996,757,124 Km
Total driven laps 221,673,187
Total races raced 4,139,512
Total drags raced 1,304,228
Total hosts joined 33,356,319
Total fuel burnt (in S2) 291,556,202 Ltr

So around the sunday, the record should be broken if we get a good weekend race.

To be honest isn't it just easier to say one billion than one-thousand million?

Or one trillion instead of one-million million?

I do.

It is easy to keep track from 1-1000 than it is keeping track of 1-1000000
nope, because one million million is a Billion
