Types of PC cases?
...just a quick one:

What are the dimensions standards when working with different types of mobo's and cases?

Are new cases bundled with mounting kits and adjustable thingy's etc.?

IE. if I buy a case how do I know it will fit my mobo?

If your mobo MATX? Look for a MATX / ATX case

If your mobo ATX (standard "full size")? Look for an ATX one.

Is your mobo E-ATX (extended ATX - usually only double CPU mobos) - then you need an EATX case.

Most cases are ATX, and so physically fit - the only other thing is standoffs but that doesn't really matter.

Case wise, you get a case (well for cheap cases at least) and nothing more - you get an IO backplate but it doesnt fit so you need to use the one with the mobo.

Not sure what else you'd want?
Another thing to note is that if you are looking at high-end graphics cards (Ati 5870/5850, Nvidia 295GTX, etc). You need to check if those fit in to the case. The cards itself are within the standard length limits of expansion cards, but many cases have HDD cages or other structures in the way, so those cards won't fit.

That's microATX. Also known as MATX, mATX or uATX.
