TCP bind Failed
im trying to setup a lapper on my Dedi host.. and every time i type in /insim 29999 i get TCP bind Failed any help?

sorry if already answered i searched couldnt find anything
Bind failed means something else is already using that port. I'd guess you're using the same one on the client.
im really new to programming like not even 3 hours in.. so i dont understand.. cause the Lapper doesnt even show up on my server and i even set it my dedi use the /insim 29999 si to worked =\ but idk

i wish i knew sumone that could help em with this but unfortunatly i dont =\ so i gotta do it my self

Open a Windows Command window (Startmenu->run->Cmd) then type "netstat -an". See if there is any line in the output near the top that says something like:

TCP 0.0.0.0:29999 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

if it's there, then something is already using that port. Edit the setup.cfg in the dedicated host directory and change the port from 29999 to say 39999.

If it's not there, then the dedi server is not running, so there might be something in the Log.txt file in the server directory. Check the threads about setting up a dedi server if there are probs there.

P.S. What OS are you running?

Hello,

Please give your version of lapper. Regarding the file config, i think it's an old version. If i remember this message is due to a mismatch in Timer action.
