Monitor Broken - Wont Stay On?
Ok I haver an odd problem - One of my monitors (Iiyama ProLite E431S-S) doesn't want to stay on. If I turn it on - it comes on and after about 3 secs the backlight goes off. It used to do this and then *eventually* the thing would stay on but now it's finally stopped working.

A friend said it might be something fixable - any ideas?

I've emailed Iiyama but it's out of warranty and second hand and several years old and they haven't replied...

I had the same problem with my old monitor... Luckily I had the same monitor with fried electronics so I just changed the back-light lamp (don't know how it's called) and it was ok
Yep. The problem is those lamps. Try this one , if you still have monitor : turn on your lcd , then wait till screen turns off. Then take some light source like desk lamp or high power led , then touch your screen with it and you will see in that place where you light your desktop , or whatever you left before monitor "turned off". If that so , problem is with matrica`s lamp`s. If you cant see any signs it may be matrica problem , then i suggest you to buy new monitor , they are not so exprensive these days ;]
Give it viagra, then it'll be on for a while.
