I took 11, passed 10 of them within A-C grade boundaries and got an E on the 11th

that of course was a couple of years ago and am now doing A2 courses

Is this exams or qualifications gained?

I took 11, this year (today)

My friend took 15, this year (today)

Two sets of results for you there
First being public school, second being selective.
None and I did go to school.
Ok, all very interesting. I wasn't aware that so many subjects resulted in multiple exams.

I'd like to open up the answers to people that took exams before GCSEs existed, (eg O Levels and CSEs etc).

All I'm interested in is number of subjects/exams taken and the year.
I had a stupid number of exams really:

English Lang: 2+2xcwk
English Lit: 2+2xcwk
Maths: 3(?)+cwk
Bio, Chem & Physics: 3x3
Spanish: 3+2xcwk
French: 3+2xcwk [both would have been 4 w/out cwk]
History: 2+cwk
Geography: 2+cwk
Latin: 3 [tho 2 of them were one after another]
RS: 2

So that's 31 in total, plus 11 lots of coursework, for 12 GCSEs

EDIT: ^ LOL. As you can see, I did well at maths

I think that is the same as it is for everyone else. That is how it was for me, only I had 2 more GCSEs because I sat some extra exams in my final year because I had completed some GCSEs a year early.
