The long awaited Collateral Collision is finally here, which marks our first ever venture into LFS movie making.

Pushing the boundaries of the racing simulation Live For Speed, Collateral Collision is the result of a huge collaborative effort from the Live For Speed community, along with my dedicated passion for movie car chases. Our aim was simple - to deliver the most authentic representation of a movie car chase that was physically possible within the realms of a machinima film.

As a result, Collateral Collision was a hugely ambitious project, with incredibly long filming times and editing sessions. Not a second that you see has been overlooked and every sound you hear has been meticiously dubbed from other sources. To say the least, a tremendous amount of effort has been put into this project, in terms of both the filming and the editing.

To put it simply, we feel that Collateral Collision is the most definitive and comprehensive machinima car chase experience, which aims to mimic the likes of car chase staples such as Gone in 60 Seconds, Bullitt and Ronin.

As a lone driver sets off, little does he know that another malicious driver is about to give pursuit, with dire consequences that result in a grueling chase sequence of life and death. Think of it as Duel meets Grindhouse: Death Proof.

Enjoy.

Wow, it's either very long, inefficiently compressed or just awesome quality. Well I'm downloading
A brilliant film and I am glad I had the privilege of being a major member of the cast being the double for unknown risks. I was also privileged with an advanced viewing of it as I was one of the major cast members. I hope that you will all enjoy this film and realise how much time and effort has been put into it. I also hope that this film becomes the LFS film of the year. The film is 12 minutes 50 seconds of pure win.

It's all 3 probably But yes it is a long movie and at high quality.
Whooo-hoo!
over 700mb will take a while from me :jawdrop: Ill just wait until the Youtube version comes :/
I'm happy this film has been so well recieved
Nearly a year of waiting! Can this video beat Squidhead's version of the genre? Does it even matter? What I do know, from seeing the trailer, is that it's going to be a thrilling ride! 2 hours of downloading to go.
Fantastic video, there were a few things that could have been slightly better, such as continuity of the car damage and not making the flip setups so obvious. I also saw one clip where the blue car didn't load properly and appeared out of thin air, a little bit of editing would have sorted that one out. Other than those small points, I loved it, the car crashes were epic especially the last one with the XRT flipping onto the roof of the other car.
engine sounds from GT4?
Thanks for the comments so far!

Glad you enjoyed it ATC Quicksilver, with regards to your feedback it would be quite hard to disguise the roll setups, and the scene where the main car didn't load properly it was again difficult to remove this due to server lag and I had to include the whole shot in that instance otherwise it wouldn't have worked. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it, it is always very rewarding to finally gather feedback after working for so long on a project.

Maybe I have to say though it took a very long time just to record and then dub those engine sounds throughout the film!
downloading! (with 1.6 MB/S) :nanaas standard user)

edit: now it slowed down to 0.7

they fit extremley well! i must admit, this has been well worth the wait

you know your sad when you can pic out sounds from games....
Liked it. And yes, it's oversized. 700mb should be 1 hour with good quality, and 2 hours with acceptable quality.
Absolutely brilliant work! There's only 1 scene, I think... where I saw the cars without any damage, but never mind. Still, super work.

Thanks! And much work there was too. I'm sure there are many continuity errors in the film but it's quite a task to manage. I suppose you could say it is all the more movie like if it has goofs
Make sure to make the youtube movie in HD! I would hate too see all of this hard work in anything less.

Thanks,
Shashdev
As I mentioned yesterday, I love the film and you've done a very good job. I am proud to be the one of the team that was involved in the film. Excellent job, Martin!
that film was kick ass i lvoed every min of watching it ermm when's the 2nd film of it comng anyhow few ideas why not add bunch of cops to the next one to make it more action packed and why not get the whole group togher who made this and see what they could come up for the 2nd film. 10/10 on everything. i don't know why it could't be on the front page of the website or even the cinma. Its a must watch people its a must watch.
i'm in it Red FZ5 at 12:01

But i guess nobody care about that xD

Awesome video, thanks for all your work, all sounds fits well, thanks again
That was quite epic, well done!

Excellent sound editing!
I quite like the pileup towards the ending, with the jumping XRT ... since i was the car that caused the whole pileup /endbrag

Again, very well done, it was a pleasure to be a part of

Regards,
Gordon
Dowloaded and watched in HQ.

A lot of work in your movie production. Nice imagination with Skins to differentiate models and give more variety.

Astonishing work. I love the RB4 vs UF1000 part on Fern Bay and, finally, poor UF1000,hahahaha.

I love all sounds there (except engine, I think can be better but don't worry).

The sounds in damage scene and music tension is absolutelly perfect and brilliant.

Mate, this is the Pursuit movie reference.

I hope you can make Collateral colision 2?

Glad to see movies with talent people as you and staff that helped you. Very entertaining.

Sorry by my poor english.
Shame about the damage, helmets and the obvious setups. Limitations of LFS more than anything,

Top Notch

edit: P.S. would it be possible to get the promo pic (the one in the OP) as a 1920 by 1080 desktop background?
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
