Quote from J@tko :Whats your CPU speed? [LFS, particuarly with lots of AI, is very CPU dependant.]

Pentium 4 2.8 gHz

Well, i have the same P4 3.0 HT but at 3.25ghz.
and a radeon 4650 AGP 8x
with 2gig of ran

To tell the thrut. you cant run the game with no more that 6 - 8 AI without having a masive FPS drop

Only with 30+ (NO AI) online in full grid and behind of the grid (Last place) with everthing at max i have 12-30 fps. and a average of 40-62 fps after race start
Crash physics do take up a silly amount of CPU in pretty much any sim. Running along normally, all is good, but when you crash into the scenery or another car, the maths involved goes through the roof. Run less on your CPU (AI cars, etc) and it should be better.

Sounds like Scawen is coding some sort of multi-thread physics on the new patch, so hopefully it should spread the load better than we currently can

And the source of this where is....?

Never hear of that for the next patch.....
Just gathered it from a couple of comments made around here. No idea for sure if he is or not, but there`s gotta be something much, much bigger than just a car and some tyres being done.

Scawen did also mention before it would take him about a month to make LFS work over multiple cores, so here`s hoping. LFS is far too CPU bound atm not to do it.

Maybe yes Maybe no, better dont speak about "Next patch"
C`mon girl. There`s nothing better to do but speculate. A good guess based on some comments made around here, and throwing some ideas about is far better than all the non-constructive moaning going on

We do need better CPU management tho. LFS is needlessly hogging the hell out of single cores, and is utterly wasted on multi-core when it could be sharing the load around, and working sooooo much better
There is a thread in genral disscussion for speculation

On topic:

Heerbommel does your PC have onboard sound?
Does the CPU meter hit 100% when you add more AI drivers?

one of the solutions on P1 was to install a dedicated sound card and disable the onboard.

Good luck
