Finally after about 6 months of buying bits ive just ordered the final most important parts of my pc project. Nothing to fancy. I have already sittign in my pc which will stay.

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 gddr3 512mb which will be installed as soon as i have my new mobo.

On the way i have the following....

Ram... only getting one set for now but will get another pair at a later date for 8gb

Nothing fancy i made a rash decition today after buying my radeon 4850 and finding it didnt fit my current board. because of a odd layout.

Got 64bit vista waiting to go on to it. So it will be a intersting first build new equipment never worked with AMD before never worked with vista before and its my first build.

Ill get some pics up while i build.

Parts look pretty good. Good luck with the build. Since it's your first build remember to take your time and don't force anything. If you find yourself getting frustrated take a 5 minute break, read the manual if you need to, then go back to it. Better to take an extra half an hour to build it now and be able to enjoy it for years than to break something and have to get a replacement part.

It's relatively easy to build a computer. As Amp88 said just remember not to force anything!

If you need any help, you could reply here or give me a pm and I'll try my very best to help you

Good luck!
Yea taking ti slowly waiting on one last thing then i can start ive slready done a few things figured out the Cooler and installed the CPU in the board.

And use thermal compound to seat ur CPU cooler, ok im just kidding - sure you will. But, when i bought my first aftermarket cpu cooler and installed it then i kinda missed up how it should be exactly done. I did it wrong but the temps are fine, just need to reseat it again. Agree with the comments above and good luck from me too
today, with google, it is almost impossible to **** up a computer build. you can search for information... specificiations... compatibility... connectors... problems, everything.

My coler already has a square of compound on it.

Really not happy with the front audio wire in picture one really untidy. Any idea's?

A
bit of good old balcktape should sort out your wire's just get them together and put a bit on to hold it, thats what i done
Nice build, I would have gone for a Phenom II but what you bought also does the job, not that I've got a ultra rig, just a dated Core2Duo :P

Yes, close your case so you don't see them anymore. Problem solved.

It doesn't matter what it looks like, it matters how well it performs. Just tie them together with something if you don't like them the way they are, but there's no reason to obsess about them. Wires will always be in the way no matter how tidy they are.
Ive got a big window in the side of my case lol Ill use some cable ties and just tidy it up a little.

Next prolem i downloaded windows 7 beta to install on it on my old PC left it to run overnight looked this morning it was done turned my pc off installed a CD R DVD R drive turned it back on and my xp wont start one of the files was corrupt so i had to system recovery. So im back to the future.

Ive done a bit of tidying routed some wires a diffrent way this is what it looks like with the side on.....

what about the cables?

Just installed windows 7 on it and its awsome super fast. Just been on LFS on ful Res i was getting 200 250 fps.

Getting a little warm i want to increase airflow in my case.

Well ive been runnign the system for a while now and i found the GPU was getting warm andso was the CPU. So i bought a vortexx neo cooler for my 4850 which is fitted pics below.... And ive just ordered a artic cooling 64 pro as my cpu is running at 50 degree's at idle and pushing 65 70 on full load. Also decided to order a corsair 650watt power supply as ive forked out so much money on a good rig i dont want it to be destroyed by a cheap PSU.

Pics so far hopefully the new PSu will help the tidyness of the wiring. Also why do they put floppy disk power connects of PSU's any more does anyone use floppy disks anymore? I havent in about 10 years.

Did some morework on the pc stripped it down and removed the HD racking and installed the front fan. I drilled a large hole in the mobo tray to route some wires around the back as you can see from the pics......

Started taking stuff out....

Empty...

Drilled out the pop rivets to the hd rack

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/420/dscf3154e.jpg

Fitted the fan and pop riveted the hd rack back in....

Next i drilled a round hole in the mobo tray to route some wires though. Used some U trim stuff i had in the garage i did sand the hole and it was loverly and smooth but i thought ide just be safe....

Also cut a slot for the wires to run though....

I then built it all back up again trying to make it as tidy as possible.....
