This will be a VERY interesting race.
20 cars, up in the first corner with their cool fat front wing. It's just meant to be a crash.

But, I dont know, i dont really want to have rain this time.
I hope for a Jenson win again (Problably boring for you other guys)
And Lewis for some points (Heikki aswell) And 70 laps of excitement

Since the start of the season I can't stop thinking that Vettel is gonna run into the back of Button/Barrichello and end their race =S

Webber is good at monaco imo if nothing goes unexpected this could be his race.

I do not think kers will be a factor at this track. I can not imagine it will be enough to make a pass on this track and it's not necessary for defense here either.

Anyone else besides me thinking of the 1996 Monaco GP where only 3 cars out of 21 managed to finish?

Hamilton's pretty confident for Monaco as his McLaren supposedly doesn't need much downforce there which he doesn't have.

You're right, Monaco is a high DF track. The surface is so bumpy that wing is put on to get sufficient traction out of corners. This was true in the TC seasons, and now that it has been removed I'd imagine the situation hasn't improved in that sense. On the other hand, the McL should be less bad in Monaco because their main problem isn't necessarily pure downforce, but handling in fast corners due to poor aerodynamics. Monaco isn't such a fast circuit, so actual downforce on the rear wheels out of the crucial corners is more important.

That explains the additional wings many teams used there in the past...

Many corners may be too slow to take full advantage of them but the straigts aren't long enough be disadvantaged a lot by the additional drag.

I think traction and confidence are the key at Monaco

I would have thought that KERS could be interesting as it has both the tactical advantage, and the need for acceleration out of slow corners.

No it wouldn't really work, it's mostly designed for long straights and gaining an advantage passing others.

If they press it coming out of the slow corners they would end up spinning it I think.

And probably Brawn and Red Bull's will have less advantage here, where they really shine in comparison to others are the fast corners. Not much high speed here.
