Shuto Kousoku Trial Series, a 5-part movie series produced by the drift godfather Keiichi Tsuchiya, was first released in the early 1990's. Cars ranging from the R30, R31, R32, R33, 240sx, 300z, Supras from the late 80's to the RZ, and even the Acura NSX!!!

As of present day, there are 4 full movies - parts 2, 3, 4, & 5. If I can get my hands on the original part 1 movie, then that one will be available as well.

Also coming soon, is the complete Initial D Live Action Movie, with all the cars from the Night Kids, Red Suns, Emporer, and the Akina Speed Stars, as they battle over Mt. Akina to see who is King of Touge!!!

To me, Japanese racing movies were always, and still are, a million times better then the Fast n Furious series. FnF has way too much dialogue that really has no place in racing movies, which is one thing the Shuto Kousoku series has little of.

All I can say is, watch them, that is if you really are a Skyline fanatic, then you'll see exactly how much better they are then FnF, and will probably change your whole image of what a great racing movie is, and should be!
lol
yup, agreed, the dialogue/storyline is terrible, thank god there's only like 15 minutes of it out of the whole 2 hours, leaving about 1hr & 45rmin of action, which is what counts most!
Jpop.. yay!
lol yeah!
lol, before I saw SK, I was not into jpop, but after, I could not get enough of it!!! xD Here's the music page with both theme songs, I made a looooong time ago... xD

Coming soon, as in: it's soon to be released, or it's soon that you upload it somewhere? IIRC, the live action Initial D movie is a chinese production and not even mediocre.
Racing movie is like porn movies, who cares about the dialogues?
I downloaded 1-4 of this over the past 2 days, but I've not got round to watching them though.
lol
ok, I added Shuto Kousoku parts 3 and 4 as well to youtube. They have been around since the 90's, but only 1 was on Youtube that was the complete movie, part 5 (MAX), which is also the best one. Parts 2, 3, and 4 were also good, and I loved them just because Keiichi Tsuchiya drifts the R32 in all 3 of those movies. In the 5th movie, he doesn't drift the R32 anymore, he switched to the Acura NSX.

All in all, the whole SK Trials movie series is pretty good. Part 3 was too short, only like 1 hour, and part 4 was too long, almost over 2 hours. Part 2 is my favorite besides part 5, it has good music if you like jpop, and watching Keiichi drift the R32 @ the Hi-Land Sendai track, and in the dirt, for like half of the movie, is definitely what I love about it.

The initial D Live action movie I also uploaded is in Hi-Definition, without any subtitles to ruin the image quality. It's the only one that is the complete movie, there are others uploaded already, but none in english and most don't use the actual soundtrack, but my sound does lag by about 1-2 seconds. I have plans to fix that delay in the future.
This is definitely a cult series. I got it from the Mule a few years back, but to be honest you're better off following the "Best Motoring International" series. You get more action without the bad acting/dialogue and there's also a degree of analysis. For anyone who doesn't know, Best Motoring is the Japanese equivalent of what Top Gear should be. Rather than driving up and down a runway and building rocket-powered submarines it's actually about cars. They do things like comparison testing between different tyre brands, endurance running of standard road cars (you should see an Evo 8's front left tyre after 30 minutes of track racing), investigate various tuning techniques with actual results and battles between some pretty hot machines (it's not uncommon to have races with a couple of Lambos, some Ferraris, a couple of Porsches and some NSX Type-Rs, for example). They also have occasional guest appearances by people like Gilles Panizzi, Petter Solberg, Tommi Makinen etc and get them to do interesting challenges (like racing driver vs rally driver). The audio is Best Motoring International videos is a mix of English and Japanese but there are subtitles (the subtitles aren't great but they're not that bad either). Have a look on YouTube for some Best Motoring International videos if you haven't seen any before.
@amp:

you forgot to mention that in international car battles only japanese cars (are allowed to) win. I think its rather strange that a Ferrari 360 loses against a NSX (on Fuji!)

mmhh, don't know, iirc it was a race around Fuji circuit, and there was at least one M3 CSL. Saw it somewhere on youtube, dunno how old that footage was.

Well, the above screenshot clearly shows the Japanese cars that you say can't be beaten being beaten. They have too much integrity to be biased against foreign cars.
lol
The NSX has less weight, and somewhat shorter gear ratios that are set a bit closer together then the Ferrari 360, which has the higher top speed of the 2 cars. I'm not too surprised the NSX beat out a 360. lol

The Dialogue in porn is typically hilarious.
Haluan, että teet minulle tämän pinon rumpujen.

Well... Apparently.

I wonder why they included Finnish language in the translator when it doesn't seem to be able to produce anything even remotely sensible sentences.
