the thing is, it's not icq you see, but miranda. hence the rather minimal looking message windows.

i had to install vista if i wanted to use the 8 GB RAM - the support for 64 bit XP is very small.

Oh, I see. In effect I haven't thought that. But after years of XP, when I used Vista a bit (on my notebook) I was VERY disappointed. Now on my desktop PC I have installed Seven: it's in another universe, that's sure. Almost NO crash at all, and it's still a beta. And my God it's fast. I'm sure I'll buy it when it comes out (this year? next year? whatever...)

ive got Vista Ultimate 64bit and ive had no problems what so ever in getting any programs running.
