Would you go to the Inaugration?
If you had the money, or lived near D.C. (in my case), would you go? Personally I'd say "Hell no" because of the temperature and various bad lucks i may come across in the wave of people, but now I'm feeling bad because i live so close and yet not using the opportunity to go. It's too late now though because it's around 10 AM and the place is pretty much overloaded already.
No. Obama isn't just going to be the first black president, but I bet he will be the first black president impeached. This guys isn't going to help us, but rather make more wars, and make more rumors of wars. So, if I had the opportunity, I think this would be a great time to move to Europe or Japan.

Funny how you list Japan, and not any other Asian countries. And why Europe? Isn't Europe way more socialist right now compared to the US? Anyway, it probably won't get that bad. I for one don't care what happens anymore. As long as my life isn't threatened, I don't care.

Exactly. Let's save the US economy by abandoning it? lol

well, McCain would have been better. Besides, if he gets impeached, don't they get a new one right away? That's probably why they have a Vice President. Otherwise, I should be like wheel4hummer. I am not going to care anymore. I'll just live life.

Did you forget that Sarah Palin believes the earth was created 6000 years ago, it's wrong to abort a foetus but fun to shoot animals, and you can learn all you need to know about relationships with foreign countries by living roughly within a thousand miles of their borders.
I wouldn't go to the inauguration.

It's just an inauguration, I'd just sit home and watch it on the telly probably, but I won't be home then.

:slap:

Are you serious? Make more wars? Why do you think that? Remember, Obama has no ties to big oil.

He couldnt be any worse than G.W. We are gettting rid of the trigger happy, oil driven President (not only oil driven president, but the whole administration). In 8 () years I hope you will be willing to admit you were wrong.

McCain/Palin wouldve been better???... now I know your smoking crack.

As for the original question, no I wouldnt go. I will have a much better view sitting at home.

EDIT: You may be right about the war thing, I know having a black man for our President has pissed off a bunch of rednecks. So maybe a civil war, but I dont think you have to worry about us invading other countrys for their oil.

Well, he is a Democrat. Or should I say WAS a democrat. IDK? Maybe your right. Who knows? I will accept the fact that he is now president. I'll just hope for the best. Also, I hope this guys can get hydrogen powered cars to be in our country, because GM, BMW, Mazda, and now Honda all have Hydrogen powered cars. Also, we need for stations to get Hydrogen from. I hope Obama does that. That would be really cool.
Moving to an even more liberal country [name any European state] because your president is more liberal than your last one and you don't like that does not sound too good an idea to me.

Obama is the breath of fresh air the whole world needs, not just America. Having said that Tony Blair was the breath of fresh air that Britain needed in his first term, it was the second two that where the problem and defined his reign.

I wouldnt bother going to a president innauguration myself, I dont know what there is to get excited about. All world leaders are, fundamentally, untrustworthy scoundrels. That's the nature of the business. I don't see why anyone would celebrate getting a new ruler and master who'll send them off to die or backstab them based off of spreadsheet results. I really couldnt care who rules any given country, provided I still have the right to bitch and moan about whoever is doing it.
I would go equiped with a sniper rifle.....

.... the chance to take out Bono is too good to turn down.
Maaan, gripdriver...
You seem to be just a brainless redneck who believes in what some drunk bloke in the gutter had told him. You don't give a new man a chance, you think that the words "liberal" and "democracy" stand for communism and ni***rs bombing up your hick town.
I've got to know some Americans here in the forum, and most of them were right in defending their national pride when everyone went on about bush's own country of bombing, torture and theft. Now you Americans have a chance to be a proud member of the country that wants to fix things again, and still you (I mean grip, not all the Amis) mock around, as if things could get worse for your country...

no greetz

no butz
I'd go if it was in London. But of course it isn't.

Obama won't start any wars ... Bush managed to do two, the last Democrat to do so only did one. And then everyone was paranoid about "commies" - as much danger to the US as Islamic terrorism is now - little.
Quote from der butz :

That was a good ending to a good post.

Anyway, I'm currently watching the inauguration on TV. But I think it's one of things one needs to watch, just so you can answer the question "where were you, when...". The enthusiasm of the Americans is intoxicating and I can't help but join them in thinking that maybe, just maybe, things can get better for the USA and, possibly, for the world. Maybe I'm being too sentimental about the whole thing but I really don't care: today is quite a special day.

Now lets see if all the promises become reality.
Will G.W.Bush get abuse when he walks onto the "stage"? Let's see...

If my shoe wasn't worth more than him, and if he wouldn't duck it anyway...

Some more earthshattering wisdom from GrIp DrIvEr, folks!
Get Rick Warren off the stage.
Wow, did Obama manage to screw that up!

But, what a great moment. All the best for until 2013!
lmao, Obama fecked up
I dont know what he just did, but this was the first **** up of his precidency.
I'd call that one appeasement of the christian right rather than a screw-up.
Quote from Becky Rose :I dont know what he just did, but this was the first **** up of his precidency.

Yes... I noticed that. A strange choice of the person to represent religion in this ceremony. Hardly moving with the times...
