Laptop for LFS, 550-600 euros, possible?
I'm planning to have my own room (finaly), been sharing it with my brother for like... eternity. I'd leave him my curent desktop and by myself a lap. I know i could buy a pretty good desktop for the same money but i was always a sucker for laptops but never bought one.

I wouldn't use it for heavy games, have my PS3 for that, the only major game i intend to play on it is LFS, so are there any models for like 550, 600 euros that would run LFS on decent settings, like 1024x768 (or whatever the native is), medium to full details, some AA (2x, 4x), with full grid etc?

If there is, please recomend some decent model, reliable one... thanks..
I've bought an HP 1190eh notebook 2 months ago. I play LFS on max graphics, and my FPS never goes under 40 FPS. ( Ok I had 35 FPS with full GTR grid on SO chicane) 9600m-GT, 4gb RAM, P8400 2.26 Ghz Dual Core. Oops, I've just calculated, it's around 1100 euros. :S

Spec out a Dell XPS 1530, I got one for £530 last year with a C2D 1.8GHz, 3GB RAM and an 8600GT. Theres usually voucher codes on the net to get the price down (I think i got 15% off).

That's like 800 euros here

@ Tijay

That one is 1000...

Really? I would have thought the prices were similar all over Europe what with the exchange rate etc now. You could consider importing from a cheaper European country (no idea if Dell UK will ship to you), I can't imagine the shipping costs would add up to more than buying one locally.
