LeMans – Kyoto GP
Sunday night the scene was set was for a thrilling race on the difficult GP-track of Kyoto. It was again a race for 1 hour. The qualifying grid was pretty big with about 12? competitors, with all but two cars FXR’s. Only Postal and Rielty drove their FZR and XRR. Again some regulars, like WajUk and Weefelly weren’t there, probably due to lack of practice. (Although it was Weefelly’s birthday so he was probably to drunk to be driving) And some decided after qualifying that this track was to hard to cope with without any practice and DNS.
The start was quite messy running into T1 and T2. Michalxo clipped Aid`s bumper due to some lag and there were a lot of people who damaged their cars in the process. Some people could avoid trouble so we found Hans in P3 after half a lap!
Mazdarati, Petr and Michalxo then took the early lead. Behind them there were heavy battles because there were a few fast guys making up places. Postal, Marzman and Aid had a massive scrap for a couple of laps. Aid made it through after a couple of out-braking maneuvers in the last chicane, he had some different paint markings on his car after that…but it was great fun!
Marzman then timed out two times and called it a day unfortunately as did Yuise.
Rielty had chosen the wrong tires and started from the back of the grid for some reason. He got stuck behind Yuise, but made it through to finish 6th. Not the result he hoped for but still a determined ride it was. Postal didn’t pit, so he took 3rd in lap 21 when Petr took his pitstop. But Petr’s lap record last stint took him back to third in the end of the race. Also Aid’s zero stop race was good enough to claim the top spot of the podium fending off the ever fast Mazdarati. Starbert, Revitup and Hans diced it out in the back of the field. These guys are getting faster every race, hope to see them on a podium spot soon! Only Starbert managed to finished the race of these guys sadly.
