Found this in the CMX Viewer readme. (Y Version, so only 6 months old)

Well, they have "UFR, RB4, LX4 and LX6 car models will undergo changes by the developers yet before the final S2 release." for more than a year on master skinnerz website.
I didn't know about helmet update though, and I can't wait for it because the low poly helmet we've got now is... just crap.

Yep, although I'm afraid it's nothing new - it's been known from the start of S2 that some car models weren't finalised. You can tell by looking at the likes of the RB4 and UF1 that they're not modelled to the same standard as the recent cars - there's some very low poly surfaces and awkward bends in panels where there would ideally be smooth curves, etc.

maybe this is off topic, but when we're at CMX I have an idea.

Devs can you give us CMX version of VWS now, like it was with FBM, so we at least can have fun with it that way

I would put a large wager on the answer being, "no". Historicaly the devs have released the CMX viewer a few days before the LFS patch itself, no earlier.

Honestly, though, I don't understand why people care about helmets.. who looks at them anyway? Car skins, interiors, wheels, gloves and all that I can understand, but why helmets..?

I don't notice helmets, but I can at least see them when I'm racing if I look hard enough. Though I've never noticed in 3+ years of LFS, anything different with helmet skins over default (meaning, I've never noticed helmets at all). Interiors, wheels (I assume steering wheels), and gloves I can't see at all.

The helmet has been updated once I think, with the addition of the visor strip.

A lot of people use their own personal helmet, or a replica of a famous drivers helmet.
I notice people using my Senna one onilne as it stands out in hi res glory
