GeForce 8500GT, Good Card?
Hi

Im thinking of buying a new GF Card and a saw a Nvidia GeForce 8500GT 256mb PCI-E Silent card in a store here in sweden. Im wondering if this card is Good or is it total rubbish?

If not, any recomendations?

Budget? £114

Terrible card.

£114 should get you an 8600GTS which is a nice card.

Whats your PSU? Your CPU? Do you have a PCI-e slot?

Then it's a good card (the 8600GTS) IF you have a PSU good enough.

I've got nearly the same CPU as you, my 8600GT is pretty good. A GTS would be a good choice for you.
8600 GT(S), perhaps 7900GS, or even the x1950 on the dark side. But like Jakg said, make sure the PSU you have is up to the challenge (should be, as long as the PSU didn't come in some cheap, old case/psu combos) You can look on the side of the power supply and it will give you the tech specs of it. As long as you have 12v rail(s) that push out at least 28amps.
