Ooh, ahh. Ferrari are faassstt! Almost a second faassstter.
Friday practice does not a GP win make. [/yoda speak]

That is encouraging, but especially with the 2 tire formats, I doubt it means that much.

Edit - I'm glad to see that getting rid of Scott Speed has already put the Torro-Rosso team into a Championship Contender role... [/sarcasm]
I'm a little worried about the McLaren pace... I Know Lewis topped the seccond session but he was still .5 sec off of Kimi's best time
I'd rather see a little bit of fight for the driver's championship, it's bad for the sport for one team to run away with it.

But I would not be at all surprised to see LH on pole tomorrow.

I believe you can read more from tea leaves than you can from modern F1 FP times. They mean diddly squat, perhaps even less than that.

If I was looking for a quote to put in my sig, this would be it!

I'd be very surprised to see a McLaren win the race. I think it'll be Raikkonen from lights to flag myself - he likes Turkey. Helps soak up all the gin.
And I like Chicken, but I doubt that will have much effect on the outcome of the race.

I imagine whoever takes pole tomorrow will flag-to-flag the race. Hungarian GP always leaves a very cynical taste in your mouth doesn't it?

Quote from srdsprinter :Friday practice does not a GP win make. [/yoda speak]

yoda gets half of his sentence at the end and changes it around..

eg. normal person:

Friday practice does not make a GP win.

yoda:

a GP win, friday practice does not make =P

Friday practice means nothing? Well, in my books, fast is always fast. Can't imagine anyone backing off in Friday because there is no engines to take care, they will try to be fast as possible and search the best setups for the weekend. So far it's looking rather good for Kimi, although I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton would take the pole with a more lighter car. We have seen it many times before this season, McLaren has been slower than Ferrari but take less fuel in Q3.

Saturday practice starts in half an hour, should tell more about the speeds.
Lewis is top agian with Massa 2nd for sat practice.
Saturday practice
1. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1.27,325 12 laps
2. Felipe Massa Ferrari + 0,041 15
3. Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari + 0,181 16
4. Fernando Alonso McLaren-Mercedes + 0,418 13
5. Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota + 0,731 16
6. Nick Heidfeld BMW + 0,859 18
7. Robert Kubica BMW + 0,899 21
8. Giancarlo Fisichella Renault + 0,936 20
9. Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault + 1,012 15
10. Heikki Kovalainen Renault + 1,039 17
11. Alexander Wurz Williams-Toyota + 1,088 16
12. David Coulthard Red Bull-Renault + 1,123 14
13. Ralf Schumacher Toyota + 1,156 20
14. Jarno Trulli Toyota + 1,195 21
15. Jenson Button Honda + 1,223 16
16. Rubens Barrichello Honda + 1,390 18
17. Anthony Davidson Super Aguri-Honda + 1,430 16
18. Vitantonio Liuzzi Toro Rosso-Ferrari + 1,612 20
19. Sebastian Vettel Toro Rosso-Ferrari + 2,083 19
20. Takuma Sato Super Aguri-Honda + 2,111 14
21. Adrian Sutil Spyker-Ferrari + 2,719 22
22. Sakon Yamamoto Spyker-Ferrari + 3,387 21

Very tight overall. Hard to say who will take the pole actually. I'd say it's not Alonso, but you never know. Interesting quali I'm sure, pity that I can't see it before tomorrow.
.04 difference, Nice! Shaping up to see what Could be a nice fight for pole. Who knows though.

Auon - Sorry am I.
Quote from James Allen :
Thats a tenth of a half of a second faster than he did this morning (about DC)

It's nonsense.

A tenth of a half a second?

That is his point. (I know you can have a tenth of a half of a second, but it would be better to say 5 hundredths of a second)
If Davidson is left without a seat for next year I will be extremely disappointed.
Quote from DarkTimes :If Davidson is left without a seat for next year I will be extremely disappointed.

He would be more likely to replace Buttons Honda seat, then not get a drive for Super Aguri next year.
Quote from tristancliffe :It's nonsense.

That is his point. (I know you can have a tenth of a half of a second, but it would be better to say 5 hundredths of a second)

He obviously meant to say 'a tenth and a half of a second faster...0.150 faster. So yes he is a muppet who can't talk.

But the best one was 'and now as they say, we enter the fuel burning period' since when was that a well known saying? (those may not have been his exact words, but that was pretty much what he said)
Final qualifying result:

1. Felipe Massa (Brz) Ferrari 1 min 27.329 secs
2. Lewis Hamilton (GB) McLaren 1:27.373
3. Kimi Raikkonen (Fin) Ferrari 1:27.546
4. Fernando Alonso (Sp) McLaren 1:27.574

10. Giancarlo Fisichella (It) Renault 1:29.322
11. Anthony Davidson (GB) Super Aguri - Honda 1:28.002
12. Mark Webber (Aus) Red Bull - Renault 1:28.013
13. David Coulthard (GB) Red Bull - Renault 1:28.100
14. Rubens Barrichello (Brz) Honda 1:28.188
15. Jenson Button (GB) Honda 1:28.220
16. Alexander Wurz (Aut) Williams - Toyota 1:28.390
17. Vitantonio Liuzzi (It) Toro Rosso - Ferrari 1:28.798
18. Ralf Schumacher (Ger) Toyota 1:28.809
19. Takuma Sato (Jpn) Super Aguri - Honda 1:28.953
20. Sebastian Vettel (Ger) Toro Rosso - Ferrari 1:29.408
21. Adrian Sutil (Ger) Spyker - Ferrari 1:29.861
22. Sakon Yamamoto (Jpn) Spyker - Ferrari 1:31.479

I loved it when Massa came out of nowhere to take pole, and then they showed all the Mclaren staff completely befuddled. I'm betting on Massa or Hamilton for tommorows win.
Raikkonen and Alonso are on the heavier fuel loads, they'll have a good chance of taking the win tomorrow. I still think Raikkonen will have it.
Massa will win. Once they get in race conditions the Ferrari will be untouchable. Kimi seems to have a lack of control compared to Massa so i guess this might not be a good race for him..
