The online racing simulator
Oooo goodie...funding for the Nordschleife found?
What about a special show/fair 'mode' that adds the lfs url to the top of the screen, using wide screen mode, and adding the url to the black whitespace on the top?
Just an idea... (well I guess people might not use this mode then... mhh)
Quote from BBO@BSR :It is a company called FESTO (www.festo.com)

The simulator is called Airmotion_ride

See it in action
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvG5rxVeY5M

In their (linkt to->) PDF

"Airmotion_ride incorporate flight, helicopter, car racing and roller coaster simulations.
The car racing simulator is breaking new ground above all
in multi-player applications. Thanks to the excellent network
code, bumper-to-bumper duels can be staged either on the
Internet or in a local network of up to 23 players, who can drive
a wide assortment of cars all based on genuine vehicles."

They have photos of LFS in it but don't even mention it somewhere.
Sounds more like they build it.

Edit:
Airmotion_ride is now a product of:
VR PROJECT - Event-Management
Edelweiß Straße 8a
85591 Vaterstetten
www.vrproject.de (German)
They call it now
http://www.x6-simulator.com/index2.htm (English)
http://www.x6-simulator.com/en/x6_race.htm (lots of LFS Pics but no a single link to LFS.net)
and they use the BMW video as their "X6 Promotion Video"

http://www.x6-simulator.com/index2.htm

they have logo of LFS on this page...new?

Quote from mickyc30 :man that annoyed me.. i had to comment their video.

And what an intelligent comment it was.
how do you even know my youtube name is mickchap22? i might have been any of those other comments:monkey2:
well.. "mick" in both of them, so seems obvious enough to me :P

but then again, it's not 100% proof, but the most logical thing to guess on first sight imho

Also he never stated he pointed towards a reaction of someone named "mickchap22", you just brought that one up by yourself, how hilarious.
Pretty poor behavior there, Mick.
Convenient how they blurred out the Logitech logo on the wheel center hub and replaced the Blackwood sign on the bridge over the S/F with a Festo sign.

Interesting rig though.
so what, i love my LFS and dont wan't to see it getting riped
they didn't credit lfs in that vid. btw is lfs patented?
If it is we might be able to sue right?
Short article in the ATmag (slovakian auto-tuning magazine), pdf here.

Who is 'we'? Are you part of the development team? The more I frequent the forums the more I find people acting like LFS is theirs and like they have some say in the development process...I think that's why I took a break...
oh give it a break, its not like I was implying that I did work or was expecting money.
we are a community.
Just noticed this: http://pc.ign.com/articles/886/886340p1.html

Interesting idea, I had never heard of this happening (maybe I'm just out of the loop? ). I don't have the talent or the physical characteristics for it (I'm 6'5"), but it sounds like an awesome opportunity.

That's a very big/major gaming website too, so it's nice to see LFS getting a mention
"we'll be bringing you full impressions of the event soon"

and more coming
Here there are two notes (in spanish) about LFS and LFS-Latino America in a motorsports magazine and a newspaper:

1- A Todo Motor
2- Clarin

Very nice to see that being mention'd

Though I had to lol at this comment....

Heikki Kovalainen Had a go on LFS IIRC, his time, after having no experience in LFS, was at WR pace, I believe he even beat out the World Record time set by fastest hotlappers in LFS!...
Posted by: C.Raemisch on July 06, 2008 10:20 PDT"

Heikki was 3 seconds from the WR pace, he done a 1.02 when the world record was in the 58's....He was however using a default set with r3 tyres, so it was still impressive, but nowhere near a WR. :P
Sorry for the OT but, is there any replay of heikki racing? how do you know he was in fact hekki? :S
Perhaps they took a blood sample when he was at Fortec, just to make sure he wasn't an imposter
Damn! and i thought i was better than him
