This is quite a major step and as such I felt it had a place here in General Chat rather than the STCC sub-forum. If I overstepped myself I appologise now and will happily have the post moved.

I've developed a Private Messaging System, Group Messaging System (channels) and online notification for friends system.

It's all now online and being tested on our experimental server (Patch W10 required).

If all goes well the system will roll out onto the main servers after the next LFS patch.

At the moment you must be in a car in order to send or receive messages. When the system goes live we plan to resolve this and make messages work even when you are not in a car. We also plan on launching a new 48 slot chat server so that you can log on to chat in your [team] channels without getting in the way of racers or taking up slots.
