Possible 'e-mail change' bug
Some time ago, Scawen introduced a feature where we could change the e-mail address of an LFS account without having access to the old e-mail address (great change btw!)

A while ago, i clicked 'send email to set new address' and today when i checked the same accounts - it shows that again and i have clicked it again.

I suspect there might be a bug here somewhere. I think what should've happened, is that after the 7 days ran out, i should be able to set a new e-mail address (correct?). This is what would make sense.

It just returns to its initial state after those 7 days, as if i never clicked it in the first place.

Question for Victor/Scawen;
What happens in a rare case when:
  1. The e-mail server rejects the request
  2. The mailbox is removed
  3. The e-mail alias is changed/removed
Because that is what IS happening here. I used the same domain on all those accounts i am having this issue with, but i stopped renewing the domain in 2024.

I've started one of these requests on a test account, to have another look after 7 days. I've tested thoroughly before several times on a short time frame test while developing it and it was working fine, and I'm sure I've seen it on the full week test as well. There isn't a way for it to be affected by failed emails or expired domains, etc. It's not an active process, it just sets a time in the database and that is affected when you visit the page after some time.

After the first 7 days, you should be able to set a new email address without receiving one on the old email address.

After a further 7 days, if you don't set a new address, then it returns back to the original state. That is 14 days after you first clicked.

Just to kind of confirm what happened here, it went back to its initial state because i waited probably 3-4 weeks. All good then.
