Choosing graphics adapter
I don't know if this is just me or what, but lfs is runing on my integrated gpu intel hd thing while providing max 30 fps.
I have a dedicated gpu "radeon r5 2gb" that I'd love to be able to use but i don't seem to be able to change the adapter.
I'm not entire sure what you're trying to say here.

If you have a graphics card you want to install on your motherboard, but is not able to - you should post in
https://www.lfs.net/forum/84-Video-cards

If you already have it installed on your motherboard, you could go into LFS Options > Graphics, at the bottom you can change the adapter (graphics card) you want to use. Or post here: https://www.lfs.net/forum/5-Technical-Assistance
(don't forget to keep your drivers up-to-date Omg omg omg)

Or if you think this is a bug, you should post here: https://www.lfs.net/forum/10-Bugs---Program
Try edit file "cfg.txt" in folder LFS and change parameter "Adapter Select 0 to 1"
LFS will use gfx adapter that is set by default in windows. Have a look in your gfx driver options. With nvidia one can set a prefered gfx adapter for each app. There should be some equivalent setting for amd as well.

It may also be about power saving modes. Make sure you have a DC psu plugged into your laptop, when runing LFS.

still, didn't change the adapter.

Maybe check device manager is there any radeon just to be sure
My HP laptop has an option in BIOS to disable the inbuilt graphics adapter - I did it to make sure no application is started with it. Maybe yours has it too.
maybe try change adapter in file "card_cfg"
Nope
