Not as old as you 2003 and 2004 farts, but still here. Not active in-game or forums though.

You're absolutely right. Tyre should lose traction as it wears. In DMR 1 hour races, people are always clocking new PBs around fifty minute marker.

I think Scaven himself has said that this isn't correct behavior, so it's likely to be fixed when the new tyre physics are ready.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Please add a tooltip to the replay progress bar that shows the current time at the cursor's location (before clicking, that is). It would save having to guess several times, especially when dealing with long replays.

Tooltip would be nice, but you can also see the current time by holding the bar with mouse button (it replaces the total time).

As Puhba said lower is faster, because you can make faster steering inputs. With lower angles you never have to take hands of steering wheel to turn more.

I myself used 720, when I got my G25 years ago. I then changed to 540 after noticing that I was giving others a big advantage, because in some situations, I couldn't steer fast enough. 540 is IMO good compromise between feel, accuracy and steering speed.

Oh nevermind then

I haven't got any experience on insim API and probably talking about different thing again... But shouldn't coding a cruise insim for open configs be very similar to coding with closed track? There's origin some where on the map, and you code your pizza huts etcs. in relation to that point?

Hold control, when selecting track, or write e.g. AS1X.

Quote from Ikskast :I'll prove it simply.
I'll show you my gaming Rig with a video, including LFS open which shows you my account name which is ikskast.
Simple.

How do we know that you aren't shooting the video at friends house .

Good report

I could reproduce this with your instructions, expect for me buttons and shifter type were updated, but clutch wasn't. Clutch too was updated by going to garage and back to track instantly with no car change.

Adding duplicate "/run sequential" to your road.lfs script seemed to fix the problem.

I also noticed that if there are any layout objects on track, clutch wasn't updated even with out script run inside script (i.e. just by changing from paddle shifted auto clutch car to H-gated manual clutch).

Quote from Khann :30FPS isn't 15FPS.

That's how I explain that.

According to cargame.nl, everyone under 50 FPS shouldn't be allowed to play.

My computer is over six years old. This year I updated to three display setup, which dropped my FPS from ~90 to 30 or even little below. But that hasn't slowed me at all. I can still break my old PBs and race safely close to other people, just like I used to do before the FPS drop. How do you explain that?

Quote from edge3147 :Nothing says crap like 10 fps.

Compare

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... eature=watch_response_rev (10 FPS Video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... A8WSE&feature=related (60 FPS & 30 FPS Comparison)

Disclaimer: If you have a crappy computer, chances are you will not see a difference in the videos.

Quote from Amynue :AFAIK YouTube can't go faster than 30FPS so this video doesnt make sense, because both left and right side of video goes at 30fps.

Quote from Skagen :You are correct, Youtube support a maximum video framerate of 30 frames per second.

Very funny , just because you thought the other had higher frame rate, you thought that it is smoother

I've got a hint for you, edge. Cut a piece of paper and write a large number to it, e.g. 10000. Then tape the paper to the upper corner of your monitor, over the FPS display. You should now be a second or two faster per lap.

Here you go...

You need to install SoftTH to get the third monitor working. Download that and extract to the root of the LFS install. Then you should be able to select 3 monitor resolutions from LFS.

I'm not sure if your hardware is good enough though and if the PCI BUS has enough bandwidth. I'm using three monitors with 7800 GT as primary card and it's just enough for 3840x960 resolution. Only 30 fps, but it's steady so the game is very playable.

Quote from S.E.T.H :i was 0.2-0.3 sec faster each lap, and much better in races myself.

That's not a huge difference then. Besides, you can feel being on kerb via force feedback too. You don't have to see the tyres to know where they are.

IMO if want force view removed, you should also remove all other but cockpit view, which is already possible as a server option.

Have you tried it yourself Seth? How much faster is the force view is for you? I doubt that there are many people using it for racing.

It's not a bug. In G25 H-gated 1 and 2 are physically the same buttons as sequential up/down. Use scripts to change buttons automatically.

Stats are not logged in single player. You could open your own host in-game and set password to it. Then your stats would be logged to the LFS World.

I agree that multiplayer is where the real fun begins. It's just often difficult to find a good populated server, especially at your time zone.

Press the question mark at the end of the server line.

Also LFS World's browser shows r, q or p (practise) after server's name and i-button gives you details of the server session.

Quote from CodieMorgan :There are times I come out of a corner and have a friendly negotiation with 'grass' that sends my BF1 on an offroad cruise in a direction that makes me with I could throw it into nutruel very very fast. Shifting down rapidly is not fun.

You could use button clutch when you go offroading

Quote from Intrepid :You've never raced Hamilton so where's YOUR evidence of him being dangerous.

Is it just me or is not racing with someone in RL the stupidest argument ever? How can you judge any other drivers, if you haven't raced with them?

Juzaa has good points and he backs them up . Some people over here are just like Hamilton, they're never wrong

Master volume would be useful to level the volume of LFS with rest of the windows' sounds.

E:
Quote from FPVaaron :Yes all by one, I have speakers and amp which has a master volume control, however I am using windows XP and do not have a volume mixer on the task bar, the reason I ask for master volume is that some times I use the mic for team speak ect, I cannot hear people speak over the sound of the game.

This is so true.
