PMD pretty much covered what i was going to reply with, you sure your not just getting pissed off with him kicking your ass all the time?

Now, i don't even know you but i can tell you have something against him and you've wanted to ban him for a while, then as soon as you get the oppertunity you ban him, maybe so you can get more wins now? I heard you spectate as soon as anyone fast comes on the server...

Seriously, this is starting to sound a little like redline, is that the road you want to go down? If the server isn't fair n-one will want to race there. Pretty much everyone here has said it was your fault, so unban him or atleast reduce it, probably deserves a couple of weeks/ a month for his language but i don't think you should go out looking for trouble.

Sorry, but I have not heard so much bs in a long time. I know why it is better to stay away from this forum. How can you ignore certain facts posted in this thread and come up with totally spaced out explanations, probably only aiming at bashing me, my server and/or my team?
Probably because you only look at the replay, without knowing anything about what was going on before. From that perspective, I agree, I am the one who at the end caused the crash.
As you can read in this thread, mr. peace is someone who gives plenty of opportunities to ban him. I could have done it weeks ago if that's my true intention. That's the whole point. The problem with his driving style was going on for weeks. Several non FM related people agreed to that in this thread.
Good that you found out that I have something against him (against his driving style, to be precise) - now try to find out why. Then make your judgement.
I received many complaints about mr. peace in the past weeks. Several people got vote banned by him (and some following sheeps), then these people approach me with a replay of the incident asking to get unbanned, and it shows that they were not at fault at all. Of course you will say now, who's Failure, the oval idiot, to make a fair and balanced judgement. I do not care. I do everything to my best knowledge and try to be fair and balanced. And for the record, I never said that mr. peace "knows nothing" about close racing. I am smart enough to avoid making statements like that - do not feed the forum trolls. That was just dramatizing from his end. Quite normal for people of his age. What I said was exactly the same some others say here: He is a good hotlapper but he often fails when it comes to close racing. This is my opinion and it is based on many observations, actively and passively made in the past + input from other drivers.
You say that you don't know me, but yet you talk about me like I would be a 12 year old kid.
Come on, if it would be about winning I could just take some of my accounts to an empty server and easily get my holy wins or do it the "PVL" style - much less stressful than becoming subject of a discussion like this.
I do not have any problems with getting "my ass kicked", I certainly do know that on some tracks, like westhill, mr. peace is faster than me. Therefore, assuming mr. peace also knows that he is faster, I absolutely do not understand why he always has to take so much risk and aggressiveness instead of cleanly getting rid of me on the next straight.
So, again, for those who only look at the replay and feel like pointing out the guilty: IT WAS MY FAULT, IT WAS MY FAULT, IT WAS MY FAULT ! OK?
And regarding the other matters: Don't post if you don't have enough facts to make a biased post.

Quote from pik_d :I'm curious how you expected anything but him to get spun from this point:

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Hm, i think failure was the to blame for the incident in both screenshots ive seen, in the 1st he posted he had some room on the left he could have used to avoid contact, if he didnt want to crash he should have backed out when he saw what was happening, 2nd one i don't need to say anything about tbh.

Take a look at wich direction my car is pointing in the screenshot I posted.
Yes, i was about to even use the last few remaining inches, including the curb, to avoid contact.
Since he was so close to me i got sucked in by his side draft, and tbh, I was not really doing something at that point to avoid contact because I was upset about him -repeatedly- not giving sufficient room.
Giving so little room is like asking for trouble.

Quote from JPeace :i gave him all the room and respect that i can give, and yet he shoves it in my face. and about my "agressive behavior" not really, i overtake and people turn in, they spin off, cry to people in charge, i get kicked and earn a reputation of "over agressive".

So, that's what you call "all the room" ?
Something must be wrong with your situational awareness.

ok so its 59.101

Allright,
that range was formerly assigned to india, apparently it has been re-assigned to Australia.
I fixed that, you now should be able to connect.
The others, well, I need more tracert results please since the posted IP ranges are not being blocked.
Shadoww, when an IP range is being blocked, a tracert will never complete, so in your case it must be something else.

Hi,
no 84.xxx.xxx.xxx ranges are blocked, could you please post a tracert result?
Thanks!

Hi,
I double and triple checked blocked IP ranges, 219.xxx.xxx.xxx is definetly not blocked. However, the tracert you posted earlier suggests otherwise.
Could you please post a current tracert result?
Maybe at the time you did the tracert you were having a completely different IP address wich might have been blocked.
If you cant get past lcgw-10g-fdip1.dus2-de.fibre1.net on the tracert, this could (theoretically) only mean 2 things: FM server itself doesn't like you or something is very wrong in the datacenter's routing table where the FM server is hosted.
Let's see what we can find out.

Hello,
those who cannot connect, would you kindly please give me the first two digits of your IP address (the first and second part, like 219.124.xxx.xxx)you're online with? Just to make sure that they're not blacklisted.
Thanks.

Quote from Mp3 Astra :Simply, there is no official way of doing an oval race in LFS. It's up to all the drivers to understand who is where. That's it. There's no rules on how to draft. All that is asked is that you drive with foresight and some spatial awareness.

Yep.
This is exactly the point where car 116 failed in lap 153 turn 3 taking out car 123.
Car 116 was *guessing* where car 123 would be instead of getting visual confirmation of being clear to go behind car 123.
By saying "car 123 could have driven lower" you refer to the "fm way" to drive best possible line - something you apparently found out cannot be expected from the drivers.

TVE,
I see alot of emotions in your posts.
Of course people with a rank difference of less than 3 can vote against higher ranked people. Higher ranked people will never be "superior" - we have many regular players on the server who can vote against players being 1 or 2 ranks higher. To be precise: we have 5 rank levels. A noob with rank 1 cannot vote against rank level 4 and 5. Rank 2 can already vote against rank 4 - and guess how long it takes for an experienced driver to get to rank 2? Maybe an hour or two. I can assure you, at any given time there will be enough people with a sufficient rank who can vote against anyone.

The "vision" you have of a stupid system wich enables high ranked people to do what they want is simply not true. You are more than welcome to spend an hour or two on our server and see for yourself.
There are servers, where you cannot vote at all. Would you prefer that? Making every player superior and enable them to do what they want? Or would you prefer being vote banned because during race you slightly touched a ban happy kid, supported by other ban happy kids who blindly press 1 no matter what? The system is a good compromise.
As you already know, we run a tight ship. Idiots would have been long banned before getting to rank 4 and 5. I dont know anything about the problems between you and Deko, but Deko has proven to be someone who doesnt need a ban or kick vote, you can always have a chat with him and discuss the things wich went wrong in an adult way. I am absolutely sure that quickly putting up just two simple words would have been enough to prevent people from voting against you: "can't pit". It could also be that Deko simply didnt know you and just thought "another idiot". Unfortunately there are many idiots on the server who dont have the slightest clue and only connect because it says 40/47 players on the server list. Of course, this frustrates those people who try to have a serious race and it may even lead to an unjustified vote. Nobody is perfect.
The system is also not perfect (no system ever will be), but it has proven to work.

Trust me, the majority of the regular players dont really care about ranks.
What you experienced was arrogance because there are some people who think they are "gods" not because of the rank they have on the server but because they got fast hotlaps on LFSW. This is a common problem mostly teenagers have in every online game. I try to keep the arrogance to a minimum on our servers - but that requires monitoring races/racers, and that is a job nobody pays us for. So it cant be done 24/7.

And regarding CTRA, as far as i know one of the reason it was cancelled was the fact that it required alot of admin work, reading all the complaints, watching replays, banning people etc. - that takes alot of effort and sooner or later even the "best" admin gets tired of that. So there really is a need for a system wich keeps the admin work to a minimum - unless you pay admins on an hourly basis for the work they do. But that will never happen.

I hope that the chill pill you took is in effect now and that you can look at things from a more logical point of view. Stop by on our server and get a proper rank () and maybe even assist us with sorting out the idiots - there are plenty of them.

See you around!

Hi,

thanks for the quick response.
To be on the safe side, i downloaded the zip again, edited config.php, double and triple checked the edits, re-uploaded it to the webserver and still get the same error message.
I am using psPad to edit config.php and everything looks fine - i should be smart enough to do the few necessary edits, but still no joy.
I hope we can resolve this.
Thanks for your time.

Relax guys,
i find it quite disturbing that a simple inquiry ends up in one of these typical lfs forum threads wich are just a waste of bits and bytes.
Any questions regarding our community should be directed towards any of the people on vent with FM in front of their names, and if it's just by using vent's private chat. Our website's forum of course is also a good place to post questions.

Thanks and happy racing.

PS Hello The very end, i think our differences are a thing of the past by now, stop by on any of our servers when you find the time.

Hi and thanks for your quick reply,
i get this error all the time, tracker was running for months now and it always worked fine (fetching the PBs), a restart didn't fix the problem.
Pubstat key works, tested using another application.
In the log, where it says "For input sting: this", sometimes it says:
00:12:54,337 ERROR - Something failed while retrieving hotlaps!
java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "can't"

So, can't this - this can't - sounds like an error reply from LFSW ?

EDIT: Oops i should be more clearly, tracker is able to fetch PBs but not hotlaps - this is my initial problem. So communication with LFSW works, it just cannot get people's hotlaps anymore.

Hi,
since a while your wonderful tracker wont fetch people's PBs anymore using pubstat...
Here's what the log says:

Hope you can help!
Also, do you plan any further developement? This is really nice and we use it ever since it first came out.

Hello,
maybe this also falls under the same category:
Since a while Starblue's Event Tracker can't fetch people's PBs via pubstat anymore, it always worked perfectly and we haven't changed anything...
The log only outputs "ERROR - Something failed while retrieving PB!
java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "this" "

Hi,
thank you for the well organized event.
Car 808 (me) basically crashed because the DT penalty i received in lap 240 confused me so much, that i simply lost control of the car in turn 3.
Yes after 3 years of daily public oval racing my instinct forced me to tele-pit.
At the time i received the penalty i had absolutely no explanation for it, so i got confused. I admit that i am guilty of not properly pitting in, i drove across 2 or 3 pit boxes. However, after reviewing the replay i found several incidents where some drivers violated the pitlane the same way, and they did not get penalized. I was hoping, due to the fact that there were several admins present, that all drivers get monitored properly.
Deko did a hell of a job, but surely he cannot watch all the drivers.
One word to Mr. Syphillis. Please dont call it whining, i simply asked for clarification.
Again many thanks for the event, we surely wont miss out the next one! Looking forward to it.

Hello Gai-Luron,
thank you for your latest additions to Lapper.
However, with the latest version /http command doesn't seem to work anymore, i checked the cfg 10 times and i can't see any problem...
With older version /http still works fine.
I would much appreciate if you could clarify if it's me or Lapper doing something wrong.
Thanks alot!

Yep,
there is something going on.
Our insim app crashes randomly, sometimes after a minute, sometimes after an hour. The amount of players is irrelevant.
It has nothing to do with ctrl-t <-- It's not being mentioned in the server's log.
I suspect a malformed tcp packet to be the cause.
Packet sniffer up and running, i am going to get this guy.
Oh well, LFS truly is going downhill - speed hackers, stats cheater and now an insim exploit.
And Scawen is playing around with shaders :-(

OK, here's another try.

Please please please,

Make the {username} variable available in trackinfo.cfg.

I am sure this can be done in a minute.

Thank you very much in advance.

@Andy:
While driving, click on kick/ban next to a username on the connection list and just press enter.
Takes 2 seconds, and usually i can carry on driving without any problem.

Hello,

i might be doing something wrong, but !help only shows "Commands List" and on the bottom of the screen an OK button, but nothing in between?

Also, in trackInfo.cfg please make the {username} variable available, it could be used to automatically ban people driving a faster time than specified in trackInfo.cfg (speedhackers), currently only the {nickname} variable is available there.
Thanks for your work!

EDIT: Yes, i was indeed doing something wrong, dont use notepad to edit the cfg, use wordpad instead - !help works now

Regarding the massive abuse of that speedhack:

Quote from SilverArrows77 :Im sure LFSLapper can be setup to do this - u just have to play with some of its options - on a goodlap time it will issue a msg to all about the "good" lap - but this could easily be changed by setting the laptime (or splittime) to something that only a cheat could achieve then setting a /kick or /ban command to it instead of the /msg or /pm (i forget) that lapper uses.

Good thought, but unfortunately only the {Nickname} and not the {Username} variable is available there - i am sure this can be quickly fixed.
Is Gai Luron still around?
Thanks in advance.
