well i just came back to LFS after a year or two (or three?) and theres still servers with plenty of people and good racing. the game is still as fun as it ever was, not sure what the problem is.

only bad thing is that im still slow as hell

problem seems to have returned at the time of this post

fine for the last 30 mins, then started to lag, thought it was the server but all the servers are now pinging over 1000

didnt notice that before then, oops

i like all the new stuff except the 45 degree sideways look, just makes it harder to race clean, which alot of people seem to have enough problem doing with the full 90 degree look anyway now its even worse

had another idea, dunno if its already been said but Donnington Park

brilliant circuit, two layouts and probably alot more feasable to license and for the the devs to get to for research and stuff

bathurst or laguna seca for me pls

raced a bit tonight, no lag, no disconnects, fantastic

hopefully it will stay this way but its perfect atm

i havnt had a chance to play since my last post, i hope to be able to tommorow and will see how it goes

well it was great for about 20 minutes until a massive lag spike kicked me again

better but still not sorted imo

i changed ISP a few weeks ago from Pipex, who were total crap and with whom LFS had stopped working online, to Plusnet

tried LFS again a few times this week, generally getting alot of lag with other cars seeming to jump around like mad, sometimes drops me and the server browser can show pings to servers as 30 one minute and 2800 the next

some servers seem better than others, from example the redline racing servers seem to run better than the CTA(i think)ones, but still arnt immune from this



is this the same packet shaping nonsence AGAIN? and is anyone else on plusnet whos currently having this, or has had it and fixed it?

i did a search but all the topics relating to plusnet are from at least 6 months ago, so i wasnt sure if they had fixed it and now this is my network or something

has something with the ports or something been changed in this patch?

i cant keep connected to a server for more than a couple of mins on the beta patch version, but on the current LFS version its fine

first go at the new car, quite a clean and simple design

feel free to use

not liking the new clutch and shift thing

shame the auto-lift on upshifts couldnt be left in for those of us without clutch pedals

i find it quite easy to catch the back end in the FOX and im crap so you should be fine after a lil bit of practice.

the big GTRs on the other hand.....

i just came back to LFS after about 4/5 months, in which time ive changed ISP (im now on pipex).

i can connect to the master server, but its slow to bring down the list, lets me connect then after 1 to 5 mins it drops me.

i read around on here and changed the port in my cfg.txt file to 8080 which seemed to fix it, but then after 10 mins this time it drops me

short of changing ISP (12 month contract ) is there anything i can do to make LFS work online?
