Why doesn't LFS have any?

Well, there's a couple of corners which are up/down hill, such as the 'Corkscrew' at Aston and the Westhill national section, but these are just single drops between two corners.

It'd be great to have a long up or downhill section of road, with lots of turns etc. A hillclimb basically, perhaps on one of the perimeter roads on one of the new layouts?

The AI is pretty dim. My favourite is giving them a mixed field of cars and watch the carnage as they all smash into each other.

Still, it's a pretty good way to prepare for Castle Combe Action Day, where all the McDonalds crew decide to exercise their complete lack of driving skills on a race track, and make themselves easy targets to pass Tongue

Quote from Scawen :Thanks, that is fixed now (on the master server) so you should find it works now.

All sorted, cheers!

Currently getting Unknown Version www.lfs.net when trying to unlock LFS. Shows 0.6Q12 in the usual place on the home screen.

Been ages since I updated this. The Clio's gone now.

My daily is a Volvo C30, although it's the T5 and isn't stock. It has 316bhp and 382lbft, the torque being the most impressive part as that means the time it takes to go from rolling in 2nd to off the speedometer isn't long at all! To put that grunt down it runs on AD08Rs. Corners surprisingly quickly, incredibly comfortable, and wipes smiles off of faces left right and centre. Also shoots 2 foot flames out the back.

For track duties next year I've got this to play with, its first event is on the 20th of this month.

I've been around hillclimbing/sprinting for a long time, helping run these;

The owner of those gave up a few years ago though so I've had to go to racing my own cars now!

So for the last year I've been autosoloing and autotesting my Volvo, considering it's so heavy and relatively soft it's a very competitive car, although having 316bhp may have something to do with that.

The Volvo's my daily though so I decided to retire it back to just road car duties and I've got this to race now;

Personally I'd like the massive carpark area at rockingham to be added, including the rally/gravel area at the northern end.

Yes, it is.

Westhill, easy. Rockingham comes a close second for me because I know the place.

Fern bay probably comes third, followed by Aston, Kyoto and South City.

Blackwood never did anything for me and Autocross doesn't really count.

I can't really see it. Lazy works with LFS fine, no network connectivity issues, and surely the same issue would apply to a fresh install, in which case it wouldn't work on 0.6k.

Well.

I tried with the base 0.6k and it works.

So I copied my exact cfg.txt from that install into my 0.6k9 install, which should rule out any config errors.

Same error as before.

Nothing showing in LFS at all.

I'll dig out a 0.6k install and try that.

Hi Hi.

Following on from the Fanaleds thread, I've tried to get the LEDs working with LFS with the new version of the mod. I get the following:

OutGauge socket opened
InSim socket opened
(ERR)ISThr> Error while waiting for IS_VER - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

This is with no other mods running (e.g. LFSLazy, fanaleds etc), and insim 29999 ingame and in the GUI of the LEDs mod.

Insim config (in the cfg) is as follows:
OutGauge Mode 2
OutGauge Delay 5
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 30000
OutGauge ID 0

LEDs mod is set to OutGauge port 30000.
No admin password ingame or in the LEDs mod, and the game was launched using the 'Launch LFS' button in the mod.

Game version is 0.6k9 at the moment.

Before I used the new version of the LEDs mod (was using C), it got as far as saying LFS Version: Insim version:0, then an insim packet error, but I can't get that far now with D.

Quote from Whiskey :Fanaleds works fine with LFS. If it ain't working, and this mod is also having problems, then your InSim port is wrong, check LFS' cfg file.

The insim port isn't in the cfg file, it's entered through lfs or by adding a line to autoexec.

Nothing of note. LFS CFG is fine, I've quadruple checked it. Insim port is 29999 (set ingame) and outgauge is mode 2/delay 1/127.0.0.1/ID 0(or 1, whichever the normal figure is, I'm on my phone and can't remember which), port 30000. Outsim is 0/0.0.0.0/0/0 etc, no admin password either.

No other programs are run with LFS. I installed LFSLazy today but the issue predates that.

The LFS.exe has never changed name in my install.

Insim port is set correctly. Fanaleds prints in LFS, although it does say 'insim guest closed: Fanaleds 2.3f' afterwards.

The fanaleds menu shows LFS as running, but car is blank.

G27 mod says;
LFS Version:
InSim version: 0
(ERR)IsThr> Error reading InSim Packet

Which suggests that the insim packets have changed and are no longer readable by the current versions of fanaleds and the G27 mod.

(Both apps previously worked)

Bump.

Is it me or does fanaleds not work with LFS at the moment? Tried to join their forums and couldn't recieve the confirmation email so....

G27 LEDs mod doesn't work either.

You're not making any sense. You're telling me I'm wrong, then saying exactly the same thing as I've just said.

For the sake of a live simulation, real world testing used to create a table of values for front wing, rear wing, and body aero is simple enough to work out the effect on the car in terms of wheel loading and net drag, and given the layout of the forces view I'd say that probably is the case.

I've no doubt that that's where the data that LFS uses came from, but I doubt for the sake of simplicity that it's any more complex than front, rear and general body downforce.

I doubt it'll be by CFD analysis across the whole wing!
