Although many years ago, I can remember him being a fair and fast racer. My condolances.

Any way I can convince people it's worth it? Perhaps lower the price a little bit...?
[NL] For sale: Logitech Momo (red)

As I haven't played LFS or any other racing game for a while (and probably will not pick up the old hobby in the future) I am selling my red Logitech Momo force wheel. I did basically all my LFS miles with this wheel, so yes, it is used extensively. There are some signs of usage on the leather grip, but no holes or anything.

A while ago I replaced all potentiometers with the ones Digikey sells. With the wheel you get one extra steering wheel potentiometer (I ordered two from Digikey back in the days, only replaced it once). I also replaced the throttle spring with a new one after it broke.

I think it is still a nice wheel that will keep working for quite some miles, you might want to have it as a spare in case your regular wheel brakes down minutes before an important race. I couldn't find the current 'market-value' of such a wheel in this condition, but if you live in the Netherlands and want to pick it up for 30 euro, it's yours. If you don't live too far away from Delft, I might consider taking a big box in the train and bringing it to your door on a weekend, but only if you are a true LFS fan

  • The max number of connections being increased from 6 to 8
  • An endurance league season consisting out of 10 races in the MRT :o
  • Hotlapping until two minutes before the endurance league qualification deadline to get one grid higher, only to find out six other people had uploaded a faster time as well...
  • Loosing three places in the last chicane at blackwood after successfully defending your position for eight laps.

Congratulations to Mercury and CoRe Racing. I've followed the race now and then using the tracker, it looked like a great race once again

I also quite like the results, car-wise. Two XRRs beating a whole field of FZRs... I guess it can become pretty hot up front this season, when cars are going to excell on different tracks.

I hope to be able to spectate the SO Long race, that's going to be one hell of a race

Hey guys,

I am sorry to say that in the coming year I will not be able to put in any time at all in noobTV, Masters of Endurance or anything LFS related at all.
However, since some leagues, such as the MoE was using my software, I have decided to provide the source code of noobTV so someone with some Java knowledge can convert it to the new InSim protocol again. It shouldn't be a lot of work, once you've figured out where you have to make the adjustments.

You can always post questions here, I hope I can answer most of them.

Regards,
Frank

The firewall is a bit smaller on the real car, but it is required by the rules, so there isnt much we can do about it.

This render wasnt really made for the purpose of rendering, but I thought I might share it with you anyway.

It is a render of the DUT07, the 2007 Formula Student (UK version of FSAE) car from my universities team (Delft University of Technology). It was presented to the public yesterday (if you want to compare the render to the real thing, go to the website (you will be stunned )). The render was made in CATIA v5. The complete car is modelled in CATIA, even all the bolts and wires are in there.

So what about the start grid positions at Blackwood, the last cars are starting under the bridge?

I can't give you a direct link, but I believe there is a tool that does this, in one or the other way. Look around on the Unofficial Add-Ons subforum.

I dont really understand what you are on about, but if I try I see a bar with some numbers frantically changing value and a few buttons to Increase load and Decrease load. I pressed the buttons a few times and then it crashed. Some value became too big (should be between 0 and 100).

What is your approach to the simulation? What are the governing equations and assumptions?

I dont think the nodal locations of the sector splits are stored anywhere, so I guess it will come down to driving slowly over the split, stopping the car and then reading out on what node you are.

Quote from detail :On false-start, is it possible to replace force-spec with just a dq? Dissapearing cars in championships would be not a good sight.

I think people in championships will understand not to drive more then 4 meter after a jumpstart. Otherwise they are just stupid.

How 'false' should a false start be before you are forced to spectate? Driven a certain amount of meters or certain time before the green?

Doh, had the filter on GTR...

So, just 2 servers in patch W9, nobody wants to race? I need a replay with some decent amount of cars in the new patch version.

I believe the uniqueId is never zero, but I could be wrong. Maybe you could upload the replay and I could see what noobTV makes out of it.

Quote from ORION :@devil: yea I know about the risks, but Im not the main admin (Chrinaeg is), and he decided that Husky is allowed to drive alone, so we cant say others are not allowed. People who drive alone do so at their own risk... I mean, if we don't allow this in our race, I'm pretty sure they will set up their own challenge anyway.

That people set up their own challenge isn't a valid argument. If you apply that reasoning to any rule in the challenge you end up having no rules at all.
Maybe you could ask Chrinaeg why he decided to let Husky (and thus also other people) to drive 24 hours on their own and post it here?

I don't think it is overdone. I actually think that it can be usefull for any packet that isn't sent at some predefined rate rather then when some event happens. I don't know if there would be any disadvantages of giving all new packets guarantueed delivery, but if there aren't any, I think one day someone will benefit from it.

Flags in InSimInit packet : set the relevant bits to turn on the option :

#define ISF_RACE_TRACKING 1 // bit 0 : turns on race tracking
#define ISF_GUARANTEE 2 // bit 1 : turns on guaranteed delivery
#define ISF_SPLIT_MESSAGE 4 // bit 2 : use MSS, not MSO for user messages
#define ISF_NO_WARNINGS 8 // bit 3 : turns off packet warnings
#define ISF_KEEP_ALIVE 16 // bit 4 : makes lfs send keep alive packets
#define ISF_NLP_MCI 32 // bit 5 : makes lfs send MCI instead of NLP

Is guaranteed delivery on?

Looks nice How are you going to progress from here? Open source? Embedded in another program or some interface to connect to the dll from any other application? Customizable using textures or more the vector type of drawings as it is now?

24 racers, now it is 24 connections maximum (and 20 racers). So it will be increased to 24 racers and 30 connections I guess.
