Quote from bishtop :Stereotyping people is not very fair, and unless you had actually met a huge percentage of the population

The sample size does need not be very large to make pretty accurate predictions concerning group opinions. Also, there's usually vote results one can use to have a pretty thorough judgement on the general opinions of a populace in a democratic country.

And to stay on topic:

cannot wait to try out the new lighting in VR!

If it were possible to have propee VR for that budget, it wouldn't be a niche market anymore...

Looks great! But is the lighting dynamic or pre-baked?

The former would finally allow for day/night cyclesa and dynamic headlights, while the latter has clear performance advantages.

Quote from troy :With the new DASH 2.0 beta branch for rift you can do that, no need to take off the headset anymore. Smile

The Vive can do it too in theory with Steam VR's Desktop view. But as I also have three screens attached to my PC, and the SteamVR shows all desktops at the same width of a single screen, everything is pretty much illegible.

Wait, we're three seasons in and noone discussed this?

Have watched the first two, and I do like it a lot, getting rid of Chris Evans was the right move.

I especially like that there are very genuine moments in it, and the scripts, at least until now, focus more on the challanges and cars and less on the highjinks of the presenters. Which, btw, have some chemistry between them.

IMHO better than The GRand Tour, at least for now.

Wow, we've sunk that far, haven't we? That's nowhere near enough for a proper wee. Also, people possing themselves in public does not entertain me.

Already? As of your posting, it's been almsot 8 hours here! Remember, Argentina is to the west of Britain, so about 3/4 of the world is already past midnight.

But a happy new year nevertheless!

That you do not actually mean that she is literal heroin?

Still, sad news

Episode 6 was great! It took them half a season, but they're back in shape

Episode 5 was IMHO the best as of yet. Cars were more in focus, and the jokes were mostly good.

It's watchable, but a far cry from top gears golden age. For me it sits uncomfortably between the two attractions of TG: the cars, which there is very little aboit in GT, and the specials, which now lack the adventure and scale...

Still, it's possible to overtake all three. I suppose you could drive a few laps on Blackwood with the XFG on your own to get a better feel for the track. If you have trouble overtaking even one car, which is actually achievable before the first righthand hairpin, you lack knowledge of the racing line and breaking and turn in points. You might also shift too early or too late, crippling your accelleration

The second episode was a tad rubbish. The special forces segment was both not funny and way too long. Well, still better tan chros evans TG, but there's room for improvement.

I do like the Porsches, allthough I didn't have much time to play with them yet. Quick look at my personal highlight, the 718 Spyder which is the closest my favourite car in NfS Porsche unleashed, the 550 Spyder:

Noone commented on it? Found it to be fun. If you liked TG, you'll like this. If you don't care for TG, GT is not for you!

Almost exclusively playing im VR nowadays, the 3D mirrors are a much bigger thing that I could've ever imagined. Great work. I do understand it's niche appeal though...

Quote from The General Lee :13 years! Nice!

I did wonder who was the 'oldest' active driver?

EDIT: You haven't raced for 6 years, come on! Tongue

Well, never raced much online, but I still watch the forums and try out new versions!

Nope, VR conveys the elevation changes pretty well. Still, to me the track is a tad too wide and could use a corner or two more. But that's personal preference.
