I've played video games my whole life, and I'm not even able to shout at my dog when he does something bad

Well, just reporting after getting the car.
I must say it's quite soft, but has a willing engine! Also, today I found out I COMPLETLY SUCK at starting on manual a detail I'll fix on this days.
I'm really happy indeed.

Nah, no major upgrades. I'm thinking about rims, not sure tho, it comes with rims already. As I said, the only thing I'm sure I want is to level the pedals, is it that hard? really

Actually a friend of mine recommended me to change the springs...
There are not many circuits here in chile, he's one of those gifted with living beside the best track down here, so he gets to test different kinds of cars on it. So I kinda belive him. Still, I'm not going to rush for it, I mean, I'm getting it tomorrow afternoon.

The only thing I really want is that pedal mod, not because I'm going to race on it, but to get used to heel&toe'ing.

It's not like I was getting a racecar as a first car...

(PD: They liked my car on 5th Gear )

My First Car!

So guys!
I'm really happy right now, 'cause my lovely dad bought me my first car, celebrating that I got into college. (Well we actually paid it half each)
It's a Suzuki Swift 1.5 VVT, I heard it's quite nice.
But I wanted to ask you, what would you do to it? First thing I want to do is to level the three pedals at the same height, for the sake of Heel&Toe, any ideas on that?
Also heard that the suspension is not that great... I think I'd change that.

What do you say?

OK! Now I'm here with some inet so I can reply. Not enough bandwith to get more games but still will check this list so when I'm back I can gear my notebook a bit more.
Must say that mafia was a great idea, started playing it and now I'm really hooked. Also have NfS5 to play around, and Crimson Skies is IMO a must have!

Thanks everyone.

Quote :I Wanna Be The Guy?

Probably not a good choice thinking about it...

A game of infinite frustration and doom? Yeah, not a good choice for holidays.

Edit: Not much time left guys, so no more big retail games, only indie easy to get stuff please! =D
Btw, testing Crimson Skies now.

Quote :Will say it again. Diablo II.

Played it once, didn't like it =/ I really don't like all that magic and medieval stuff, games and movies... Dark Messiah was my top.

Quote :Some old aventuere games maybe? I can recommend:
* Loom (quite easy with nice story almost an interactive fairytale)
* Zak McKracken and the alien mind benders (epic in the true sense since its very long and very hard which makes it take forever to complete)

Will check.

I'm almost done with Crimson Skies, I really recommend this game, gave me lots of good fun.

++ How can it be that hard to get ZSnes 1.42? Finally got it!

Quote :How about Quake II? Half decent single player and it only need the processing power of calculator to run.

nahh, finished it.

Quote :Plants vs Zombies!!!

Didn't like it.

Quote :Generally

Read first post, already in =)

Quote :you can get a bot mod for cs1.6

I would rather go for games meant for single player. I could get BF1942 too, but bots are not ok.

So, I tested NFS5 and Mafia, both working! =D
Thanks everyone, if anyone has another idea pls tell me!

(Also just thought about it! Crimson Skies)

ok guys, just tested CoD on the notebook... it runs ok, not maxed, but playable indeed. Just added Lt. Speirs realism mod and that'll do the trick

Quote :Fallout 2 with the restoration mod could do nicely. KOTOR if you haven't yet played it also is a good choice.

Never liked RPG's, but I will check them, just for the heck of it.

Quote :but I must warn you that game did not age well... and I mean VERY VERY not well...

What do you exactly mean? That I might get compatibility problems or such? Or that it's way too arcaic?

Quote :counter strike 1.6??

As I said, no multiplayer!!!

Quote :Don't might check it, DEFINATELY check it

I'll start looking for it I guess, specially because I haven't played it, so something new will be much more entertaining than CoD, wich I finished with it's expansion.

Quote :It is the only game that has made me really really emotional at the end. Its just quite simply epic.

Games like that are priceless.

Edit: I'll finish with Mafia tomorrow, because it comes in two parts.
Edit2: Just thought about NFS: Porsche Unleashed!

Quote :Maybe Mafia and Max Payne

Finished Max Payne, never played Mafia, might check it.

Quote :Also, Rainbow Six 3 and Athena Sword

Thought about this one, but teammate's retardness is killing it for me.

Quote :I'm sorry. But if you havent yet completed or let alone played Mafia, then you fail. Epicly.

Whoops?

Quote :Why not take an emulator and some roms with you

Part of the plan, haven't done it yet tho.

Quote :I've seen SWAT4 play smoothly on some lowish-spec laptops before

See Rainbow Six 3, same thing... this games are made for co-op I guess
(also, Original Ghost Recon)

SO, will check Mafia then! Keep em' coming!
Thanks!

Edit: May I ask for some Mafia storyline background? no spoilers, but to get the idea of the game.

Games for a Non-Gaming Notebook?
Racer556

So, let's see if you guys can help me out!
I'm leaving on monday to the beach, and want to put into my notebook (lenovo n500) some games to kill time when I'm not in the water. As it's not a gaming notebook, could you recommend some games to play with? Nothing too modern or consuming. I already have GeneRally and N: The path of the Ninja.
I'm up for some platformers, racing games, first and third person shooters. Don't have to be new or anything, just fun!
(btw, I'm more of a mature gamer, so realistic games are a plus! No sims tho, as I won't have the wheel with me, and remember, no internet = MUST HAVE single player support)
(also, I'm looking for my old Call of Duty cd's, when I get them I'll let you know how it handles, to have an idea.)

Thanks in Advance!

Quote from pacesetter :Very nice, don't mean to knit pick, however why's the Sparco logo on the passenger seat backwards?

As it's a Japanese car, textures are probably meant to use with RHD

I tried nVidia's 3d Vision Discover on LfS and I must say that it looks incredible, really believable... the only problem is that for some reason the cockpits go off, but the rest of the world looks fantastic

edit: I tried iz3d right now, and you can set everything, including the cockpits... looks awesome

if you have a good nVidia card, like the 8800GT up, you can download nVidia 3d Vision Discover, wich is free.
LFS has one of the best 3d's I've seen, except for the cockpits, wich go way to off.

Quote from 5tag :Only very little. I have a "mainstream" digital camera and never noticed the effect.

Well that's where your problem is, you have a mainstream digital camera. Most of this cams have "digital zoom", wich is mainly cropping and enlarging the image, as opposed to "optical zoom" wich affects the field of view of the camera.
I'm 18, and I remember taking pics with my dad's cam some time ago, when digital cameras weren't around, and could get that effect whenever I wanted it.

Quote from 5tag :In real life most things that are 5 and more meters away from the camera will be in perfect focus without any blurred fore- /background.

That depends on the FOV the lense have, with a low FOV you still get a lot of blur from unfocused objects.

it would be nice to have foliage in that part of the chikane... It would look more forest-ish.
That makes me think that we need a forest truck, windy, not too wide, kinda the upper part of bathurst.

Quote from Mysho :To improve yourself try to use some more sofisticated programs first

Paint.Net is quite good, specially if you know what you're doing and install the correct plugins

@TuomasH: You need some antialiasing mate, and how are you bluring the background? I recommend you taking 2 pics, one with the car and one without it, then cut the car from the first one and put it over the second one, so the blur is separed from the car. That should make your pics a lot better :P
