So it seems.

Well thanks for all your troubles and I'm glad we made lfsworld a bit better for everyone (using Opera internet browser ;-) )

Turned out to be a bit longer than an hour,

but hey; it works just fine now!
No more page-load timeouts.

(any glimpse into what was wrong perhaps, Victor?)

scenario 1 went fine (around 17.00 GMT)
scenario 2 gave me the page-load timeout

Will check in about an hour or so when I'm back at a computer with Opera...

Apart from some CSS bugs, nothing...

I don't want this topic to turn into a 'Use Browser X! / Browser Y Sucks!' topic
So could a moderator please remove this and the above post?

LFSWorld works on Opera, it merely gives the error message on a certain interval..

Opera 9.5 is due in a couple of weeks, there will be some JS changes as well, I'll keep you updated on the problem..

Any updates on this?

Especially because of the curious timings...

Just to verify whether or not it only ocurred in inactive tabs, I tried it again.
Turns out it also happens in active tabs.

I've timed it, and it happens exactly 75 seconds after the page is fully loaded (with the home page open). After I've clicked OK on the notification it takes another 60 seconds for a new page-load timeout notification, then another 60 seconds and so on.
LFSW: A page-load timeout occurred [fixed]

I've done a search for this error message but couldn't find anything describing this exactly:

Whenever I go to LFSWorld, leave the tab open in the background and continue browsing on other pages(on other tabs of course) I get this error after about 30 seconds or so.

Browser:
Opera 9.20 (it occurs since ver. 9.00)

On the other posts regarding the error message in the topic title I've found references to firefox, so perhaps it has something to do with the way both Opera and Firefox handle tabs?
LFSWorld Online Racer Status (racername with a space)

I have a problem with my online status on LFSWorld.
On my team site we have a list which shows which member is online where.
My status however is always set to offline, I suspect this is because my Username here has a space in it: 'Mark Jorritsma', and that somehow conflicts with how my online status is read from lfsw.
You can find the page I'm talking about here:

I had the same problem, not with LFS but with other games.
The solution was to disable the program that enabled certain keyboard functions for me (like volume up and displaying a volume bar on-screen).
Disabling that stopped games from goig back to the desktop.

Thanks guys,

setting the D3D settings in the Ati Device Settings to High Quality instead of maximum performance really worked.

Strange how some things in LFS are coded...
Garbled text
Mark Jorritsma

On the two latest LFS S2 alpha releases, the ingame text has become garbled as well as the text displaying which car can be used on wich server as the arrows used to scroll through the server list.
On previous versions, I experienced no problems.
System:

Pentium M 1.3GHz
Radeon Mobility 9000 64MB
512MB DDR Memory.

In the below image you can see the garbled racers table, the every meter's text is also screwed up.
