OK the seat just sits on top of the ladders, luckily its a tight fit so it stays in place.
Also its quick to pack away when im not using.

The wheel is just attached to a small piece of wood thats connect to 2 hinges then to the ladders.

It got abit of flex but seems quite structurally sound.

The seat is adjustable because it still has the rails underneath.

Hi m8 - did it in a morning really - lucky i had what i needed lying around - spent about £5 on afew hinges and new bolts. Its really improves racing games, id recommend it as a project, ask around for a nice old car seat, thats the important bit.

So there I was, reading all these threads about new cockpits and build me a cockpit this and buy me a cockpit that, and it hit me, ladders!!!

I have an old set of alluminium ladders, a car seat and a box of nuts, and an idea was forming - "the ultimate cockpit"....

so I gathethered up my great grandmas old tools, and set to work with gleee.....







then i set to work with some old spanners and she was born, Im calling her 'Rachel'...















...end result, its like driving a zonda atop a floating cloud carried by naked angels, with little harps!

so have a good look in your shed, you never know, you could be the next 'me'!!

Hi all. Ok Ive got a Crystal Prints Site on CafePress on my own Website with links and stuff (links below). Im gonna do a redesign and was looking at Redoing the Logo. The Idea was to somehow make the text of the logo in Crystals. The name Soothing Crystals is quite long for a logo so a SC combination BUT Im no designer so any tips appreciated. The Logo needs to be designed for a Dark Grey Background if poss.

So Basically if anyone wanted to have a go at a new logo for me that would be great. Any new ideas would be great on layout or design style for EBook site. Think 'Soothing crystals' glowy crystals radiating peace.

mmm maybe ur wiring it wrong or something, it is abit confusing. I dont have any wingman software loaded and it just picks up the wheel as a joystick atm BUT i used to have a logitech driver running (seem to recall it had to be a certain older logi driver). try unistalling ur wingman software and try that.

Also try and post pictures of what ur doing if u can that will help.

also - what i did was leave the seral cable in its normal condition and just stick the usb wires into the correct holes in the serial and then taped it all together - its abit fiddly but it worked for me.

Hi m8 - I have done this and still use it now. I found a diagram on www that shows how to wire the usb wires into the serial thing. Ill have a look but i dont think ive still got it. Try to search for 'usb to serial wingman diagram'.

Well ive finally done it - its changed abit from final again.

The OcZ power cable didnt reach the mobo with the psu being at the bottom of the case - doh! BUT i got a 24pin male 3 female extension & had to doctor the 4 pin one.

Got an Antec p182 in the end. Its big and sturdy & the cable management is great, The loudest fan is the stock proccesor fan .

Just installed win xp and now just formatting the 2nd hd.

I got a q6600 in then end - but oh god is the stock hs/fan crap/ I gotta get a frezzer thing for it and some thermal past.

I ended up with a GB mobo & 4gb of patriot extreme

The Saitek keynoard is nice - the purple colour is the brightest

Also went with 2 500 gb spinpoint - good price atm

just to say a final big thanks to everyone (espesially Jakg) ur the best m8

Final Cost - 770gbp - i went to collect it and saved a tenner

Hi all. OK Im ready to buy BUT im just waiting for afew components to come in.

I have been reading up on the XFX Alpha Dog Graphics Card and it appears to have noise issues at full power (and afew have reported a clicking noice on the gpu fan strait outa the box).
