Can you blame people, though? It feels abandoned outside of this community when the tyre physics have been in development for the past 14 years for example. While the new additions like the mod system keeps the community alive for now, there is absolutely no incentive for new drivers to join. When a reviewer or a person that used to be here long time ago and who decides to visit the forum, does anything here really show that the sim is alive and well? While I appreciate the roots of my simracing career, I just get laughed by others when I mention them about LFS. And I think that says enough about the state of the sim.

While the new mods and eventually the updated tracks and new tyre physics will absolutely bring the biggest peak of racers for almost a decade, for long term I don't believe LFS will ever return to a state it once was. There is quite a bit of content to enjoy and experience, but honestly theres no incentive to do racing on LFS when there are multiple better options available and I don't blame people looking for options elsewhere than here. I would love to make a return to LFS, but its gonna take a lot to see LFS change as the best option for simracing. I do respect Scawen and co. for still working on the sim and I'm looking forward to see their work in fruit.

While it's a welcomed addition, it'a very missed opportunity if there's not a track mod support. Most of the modded cars end up being drift cars, which the racing community doesn't care about the slightest bit.
