And the free version has extremely bad textures.

I got the game today, will be playing it lone wolf to get a feel for it. Maybe we can team up later

Are these RCs powered? Or are they powered by gravity, with a servo only for steering?

Well, that's extremely simple geometry calculations shown there.. I don't know what they blurred, but figuring that whiteboard out shouldn't take several hours.

I'm still very excited for this sim though, it seems great

Quote from rageshgr :He has n't, he has just given each version/release 1 point weightage on the Y axis..

In that case, his tendency line shows the new patches having negative points, and increasingly so.

Quote from Keling :If "realistic result" comes from "arbitrarily adjusted parameters", we don's call that realistic.

Computer simulation relies completely on reductionism.

Sadly there's no such thing as a what you call a realistic tyre model then. Any such model will be empirical, but if Scawen manages to create a model that isn't empirical I know a few companies that would make him very rich

It seems about as likely as Scawen discovering a governing equation for the modelling of turbulence. Nobel price here we come.

Sugars aren't alkanes..

Is the vaporization even the main problem? Would sugar-water vapor even combust? Been a while since I had chemistry, I don't think the sugar will be in the vapor

Let's not even get into an area you can't swim in, a dual mass flywheel might practically have some problems but they are often necessary. So yeah, let's stay out of a discussion about frequency spectrums and Fourier analysis.

The EGR also practically poses some problems, but has generally been accepted to solve more problems than it causes. I'm sure the manufacturers intend services to handle any issues in that regard, the thing is that they have loads of emission standards and crap to keep up with.

Because it's obviously not based on extensive reports that state the benefits of EGR. Engineers are ****ing stupid.

It's quite hilarious to spend a few hours on It's quite different from the 2nd, a lot more over the top. So that's your choice

Where would the tyre fit if you put on larger rims??
Of course I'm expecting that you wanna keep the same rolling diameter.

That simply isn't thermodynamically possible. Either he's lying or he has an insane (read: impossible) amount of pressure in there.
RasmusL

You'd need a unlikely large amount of pressure to get any useful range on this.

I think that sums up the idea in one sentence

Edit: Compressed air at 300 bar has a specific energy (potential) of around 0.5 MJ/kg. Gasoline has 46 MJ/kg.

Sure it's a multi-billion dollar project, but it's not a totally impossible idea. IMO the superconducting part is further fetched than the vacuum tunnel

Liquid nitrogen isn't that expensive.. A few cents per liter.
Even if you go with the low-temperature materials, liquid helium can be obtained for a measly few dollars per liter.

Quote from Crashgate3 :Apart from air resistance, yes.

Build a tunnel. Put in a train. Seal it off. Take all the air out. Drive at mach speeds with ease.

Quote from Crashgate3 :It's a superconductor - a substance which, if you cool it enough (hence all the dry ice) achieves an electrical resistance of zero.

Liquid nitrogen. It's -200 celcius, which isn't even enough to make most materials superconductive. The demonstrated material is one of the only known ones that are superconductive at -200 celcius, normally they have to go quite a bit lower, actually almost down to 0K.

Reading material for the interested Gotta love physics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meissner_effect

Quote from lap traffic nz :I'm just a lowly mechanical engineer, had a play with the time lapse on my camcorder today...

Since when do engineers do anything even remotely practical? At least out of university

Well, I kinda study mechanical engineering for a living. Most of the money I get come from studying.
Then I work in the IT department of my university, managing networks etc.

Kinda stupid concept IMO, where's the improvement over your normal electric bike?
