Quote from ADOLF1612 :ConeDodgers! I was there too, how I wish such a server would become populated again, just plain GTR pickup racing goodness, no ratings, no intake restrictions, nothing more, spent hours racing there with all 3 GTRs but FZR and XRR were the most rewarding always

It's a shame I wasn't there when things like this were happening... What would you say is the current best equivalent to relive the style?

Ahh... TeamSpeak. Brings back many memories. These days Discord is the TS of today.

Quote from TFalke55 :Several…
  • racing in the Kyoto 250 and the Kyoto 500 in 2008
  • Racing in the 16h race at Kyoto and having to double stint in the middle of the night as my team mate did not show up
  • Having a commentary stint in the Masters of Endurance 24 hours of Aston
  • Organising LFSCART
  • Collaborating and joining New Dimension Racing
  • Running leagues with Genuine Racing
  • Joining the CityLiga team and being involved until its end
  • My only league race victory in the UF Owner‘s Club by Zwarte Wind Racing (later Concept Racing)
  • being involved with SimBroadcasts
  • Hanging out on TeamSpeak with Dom, Deko, Ronald, Pete, Elmo, JJ Wang, … and many many many more

You really lived the experience! Im jealous. Kyoto seems to be a nostalgic fan favourite...

Quote from ACCAkut :Back in around 2008, when the Conedodgers GTR server was always full. Aston National, 10 lap racing, one mandatory stop. I was one of the few weirdos racing the XRR, typically mid field, but a single time I managed to win a race. More by luck as the actual top runners all crashed out, but still. That last lap running in first was probably the most tense I've ever been racing online.

Servers seemed to be more full back in those days... A bit of a shame, but glad to still see some regulars online. Winning a race is a great feeling, considering how difficult that may be.

Quote from ADOLF1612 :Racing at the 16H of Kyoto bacck in 2008, connecting the first time after getting my S2 license back then, being able to chose between multiple pickup racing servers, under pretty much all categories: GTR, TBO, LRF... it was real fun back then..

Wish people would like to race again instead of just cruising, I mean.. it's not bad but nothing like the constant close racing you could get

Sounds amazing! I can't wait to get my S3 license on this account. It ain't the same when using my uncle's account. I added you.

Considering how long this sim has been around for, what is the most nostalgic memories you have of it?

I have played an older version (don't remember the exact version) on my uncle's old Windows XP, and later Windows 7, laptops. That's how I discovered this sim. After many years of forgetting about it, I decided to give it another go, and, now as an adult, I'm absolutely hooked! Will most likely purchase S3 license on this account soon. Alongside this Demo registered account, I have also been using my uncle's old S2 account, which has been made in 2007 and dormant since 2011. My account is much newer, but the trail goes far further back.

Quote from johneysvk :Well, since the mods got added, most action is on S3. If you can, i'd definitely recommend that.

With S2 you can still enter a sizable amount of events, if they don't use S3 content (Rockingham, Layout Square, Mods)

S1 is pretty much only good for drifting the XRT, tho i suspect a lot of drift servers switched to S3 with the mods being available.
You could still do some events like Fragmasters' GTI thursday or MRc FBM Saturday when they run S1 tracks (which, as luck would have it, is true for both this week)

unfortunately, pickup racing is dead as hell outside demo, but you can find some people to run races with from time to time. AA's Multiclass server (S2) has a couple people on it most days.

TL;DR - get S3 if you can, otherwise go for S2

Thank you… S3 it is
LFS License Buying Guide

Hi there!

I played LFS years ago as a kid on my uncle's account. I don't remember what license he had but it was most likely S1 or S2. I recently decided to pick up my own copy of LFS after playing the Demo for a little while just to get back into it.

Can I get some advice on which license tier you'd recommend to get, and why?

Cheers!
