It's true that radar is used only for seing what's in dead spots, in front scan is useless and take half the space on radar.

If we could move the central # (Our car) on Y axis it could be great.
Possibility to get radar size we want could be cool too, but that must be REALLY complicated.

You should try the AONIO app created by EQ Worry, as a fan of sim game I always try to get the most realistic way to play so I play with internal view, but just as you I have a hard time to know when others are in a curve when they decide a pin corner can be taken 3 at a time.

I link wheel buttons for left and right turns, but while in the curve, its a bad time to check elsewhere than where you want to go... so I installed AONIO application and positioned the RADAR view just under my wheel position in the screen.


In a blink I can get an overview of me in yellow and others in white on a 2'x2' semi-transparent view. It might not be the most realistic situation (RADAR) but as it compensate the real awarness feeling you should have from other cars with peripheral vision and 3D sound... I tell myself it's a fix to what is missing. AND it allow me to drive safely with inside view, much more realistic than bumper (feel like a moose on a hood) or overview.

No one will blame you for using it as you will be a more safer driver WITH the tool.

It dont give you any speed, dont make your setup better... it just aware youof where others are when in a close proximity range so you must be carefull to not crash into them. Also have sounds to let you know when you PASSED them or they passed you, so you can turn safely to get your driving line back.

It give you lot of information like your speed, the guy in fron and behind you with how many seconds gap between you and them... lots of usefull infos. Even your remaining gaz in laps !!! It's like having a team shooting you information about the race in real time. hehehe

I really suggest this add on to everyone who cares about clean and fun races.

I dont know for others, but I dont see ''laps'' based on fuel remaining anymore.

The spot in the screen for it is there but no data in it.

Strange... it worked really well for our endurance event two weeks ago.

Now nothing !

Keep me in touch with that, I think I got this working before on our Rs4 MRT server but it's buged again, we now need (again) to wait till green light, move a bit, others wait one by one to join in parking lot, get placed on grid then we type GO to start the race... a bit anoying !

I dont remember having changed anything. Might be related to newest patches z25 & z28.

If you have dedicated server for your layout i'll be glad to help you out joining in, just post the name here.

BTW, I made it based on SRA Karting track (St-Roch de l'Achigan, Québec, Canada) the best one I tried yet.
Put 50% intake restriction and you get the feeling and fun of standard karts.
BEWARE, the curve before the long stretch is deadly !

Some nice features in that post that could be added in other add-ons that are still actively updated.

But it look like all our good handy programers are quite busy these days.

2. JustForFunRacing have a good idea there, apart for the championship side it can be made simply by starting multiple instance of servers with different class requirement. You then put bigger cars on those servers. Resulting with UNUSED servers because most cant join in or server is empty=no interest to join, see Aleajecta servers, sadly only FBM class E server always have people on it).

I guess JustForFunRacing want something allowing racers who come often to server and make pts to get/try faster cars. But then those ones will get all the PTS for the race wins tith those new better cars.
You can put a turnaround with intake limitations on new choices... but then you will have a really long list of information to give on server login and enforce limitations...I see lots of ''xxx spectated for...'' coming. hehehe

But this is really a good start idea, you race often on server x, you get more choices of car to race with... all with restrictions that give almost same performance results but better tyres options and aero dynamic / handling.

Having cars available based on server rank (made by pts on server) would be a must if it's possible.

We (guys who tests it on there servers) will then have to find a way to tweek cars so they can all race together without puting first ones too far beyond.

This can make LFS to be a bit more like other video games, having cars to unlock over time and pts. Sounds fun to me... it give the casual racers a goal to reach if they can obtain podiums.

Combination of rank+licence class=car x unlocked would be great too !

Then you dont have access to XXR cars till say safe=90%

install 2.1
set it to run as admin


Now it see my link of server Rs1 Demo on this page:

as Rs1%20Demo because of the colors in name.

everything start, but then LFS dont find the server because of the %20 in the name.

Same problem on this forum with totaly different encoding due to forum, still get %20 in the name.

So ^01 ^7 result in %20 and result as an unknown server.

Pffffff !!!
Guess what, it work with iExplo and Vista (who see it with %20) but not work with Firefox wich shown it WITHOUT the %20 but then add it when join2LFS start.

So if the browser shos the %20 in status bar it work, if not it dont.

Vista64 + Firefox combo is really hard to make join2LFS work. I guess in all other cases it work fine.

I confirm, scanned with AVG and it's clean... BUT:

Vista 64 + Firefox 3.5.3: Not working.

Not a big deal for me as it's only my server... old version run like a charm on my game PC running XP and IE.

I just post the error message to flag the problem.
Cant do the fix of Ripley, LFS and JOIN2LFS doent appear in the list of applications under option menu.

Me I care more about keeping my !safe rating high than been on the podium... podiums are the climax coming after a clean and neat race.

I can be first on 16, if I crashed someone out in the race, I wont enjoy the podium.

Keeping my Good old Red Momo (Right pic) for LFS as GT4 (PS3) was not accepting the Momo.

Maybe good critics for wheels comes from other than PS3, because on mine, it's terrible and it clearly need a fix.

See you on the tracks... LFS, Shift, GT5 (?) !

Pros:
-Nice graphics
-Outstanding sounds
-Good game-play

Cons:
Too bad I feel like driving a Pontiac 6000 while racing any car in the game...

This loose wheel feeling need to be fixed or this game wont be a real challenger for new driving games coming.

Something like a center-spring is missing in Force Feedback options.

You can put settings up to 10/10 you still get too much loose in steering.

Woohoo !!! Found the problem, it's when I select FBM car check box that I get this warning.

Could not connect to master server

If FBM is not selected it work perfecly.
So, there must still be something to change in the code.

Anyone else who have time to test it and confirm it's the problem ?

So the options are added in the GUI but it's not working for now, well... not for me.

Time to work a bit on my ABS frame now, will come back to see if there is anything new later today or next weekend. (Fix or someone confirming the same problem)

Readme_DediGUIng.txt tell that we can extract in the empty folder of our choice...
well, as long as it in LFS folder or you copy some LFS files in it after !!! lol
If the LFS.exe file and LFS data folder is not there, you just cant get it working.
