Quote from EvilVendingMachine :This is pathetic, and it happens anytime someone post a suggestion for anything

close to, for wont of a better word, controversial. Ovals, drift cars or tracks, muscle cars, etc.

Every time someone posts a suggestion as such, people start acting like

two-year-olds and blast and flame them. The suggesters in turn start acting like

two-year-olds themselves and the thread descends into the fiery depths of forum

hell. Maybe if you people were open minded once in a god damned while there

might be intelligent discussions about what would be beneficial to add to LFS.

Thats the reason why i only read this forum when im in need of a humour dose.

Quote from Frankestein01nl :Grinn, i guess with the hostilities between groups of posters here there's nothing "loving" around here, is there?

You've all come together to thrash makeshift cars around a track that's also made up (and brilliantly unique i might add)
yet most of you dont know how to communicate properly, thus proving the online anger of this game is quite pathetic... there are racers who are curtious, but by reading these posts here i feel like i've come upon the biggest "gareths" of this community. Way to go.. really... you give this community the much desired love this game is giving back to you, in trade of your sparetime. NOT.

Personally.. i dont give a rat's behind for what you think is right or wrong.. most of you are so scrambled in the upper quarter that i just cant think of a right "corner" to put you. You might race fine, from time to time, but i guess when seeing a car entering a corner a bit wide, most of you jump the gap and simply push the other car aside without even a simple sorry.. his race ends and you gain a place.. hardly a gentlemen's sport you are actively corresponding in here about.

be it racing or drifting.... you "commentors" to me are just wreckers, the "reply'ers" are the one's i'd trust on track.

Oh.. and here's a bit of racing COMBINED with some drifting(and no i'm crap at that too), courtesy of Mark who was grinning from ear to ear till it hurt last week.

Yes.. i DID make mistakes.. and i apologized for the blunders on ventrilo.

Would be cool if some moderator would stand up and actually moderate this community with unbiased ruling.

Such a nice game, such a-holes in the forum.

Well put m8.

Just had to test the hotlapping thing. Apparently all the very top times are done without H-shifter and manual clutch.. so i feel its more better to compare to people who use manual clutch and h-shifter. If i do it like that, im 3rd fastest in BL1 with XRG.. and i feel it would be close to impossible to be on page1 driving "correct". Im just thinking.. theres allready "aids" that help.. why the hell people need macros for? Its like doping that havent yet been banned. Its odd that you get satisfaction using some advantage most dont use. No matter though, its great that you see the input method in the HL chart so you can compare yourself rightfully with the like minded.

I sometimes try to drift around for fun. Its a great feeling when you initiate a perfect long, fast and smooth slide around a corner. It is difficult to do correct and balanced. (especially because i heel and toe)
I must agree i dont like the drifting culture, as i dont like many things about todays "popular" culture. But full respect to whoever can do it well (using realistic input methods of course), in game and real life.

The first post was far more reasonable, polite and nicely written than any of the replies. Keep up the good attitude!
Dont let the "we are here to say you suck because we dont think alike"
guys which this forum is loaded with to take ya down..
Being open minded is a good thing!

(i aint no drifter either.. but its fun to go sideways )

So i guess the reason.. im a race sim junkie!

It was a fun race.. i started easy.. few guys were pushing too hard from the starting making aggressive passes so found myself in 6th.. i was confident though and relaxed myself to slowly gain my race rhytm. I was fairly sure my tires would last for the race and i had all fuel from the start, so i was hoping the pitstop would be quick. I did nice consistent pace throught the race.. on lap 27 made the quick pitstop and raced to finish.. bit uneventfull, but good learning experience since i have very little of that with LFS.
Thanks all for the races and well done teammate!

Weeeel.. well well..
Thanks for the races all, had fun.. but didnt do well.

Race report:

Race1:
A bit of a nightmare.. Never really driven the car.. had about 30-40 minute practice and setup build time.. didnt test with full fuel.. didnt test anything else than clean hotlapping really.. well.. race 1 i had good chance to be the fastest on the field but unfortunately starting from back.. and climbing to second.. then battling with the leader made me lock tires few times, do couple minor mistakes.. which all went on the tires.. so after i handed the car to Kolz i was down on 4th..

Race2:

Kolz started this race, and made some changes to setup. Car felt little odd after i jumped in..
No excuses though.. just bad driving.. too inexperienced with LFS and different cars in it.. must test more in race conditions since hotlapping is never good enough practice for races..

Race3:

Since i was planning to race hard, i chose normal tyre compound, this made the car very slippery.. i was expecting that but unfortunately tried to take it very easy but still wasnt enough.. dropped down quite fast from 2nd and eventually wrecked the
car, which was a shame.

Well.. practice practice.. thats what i need.. after all ive had the game only for 3-4? weeks and havent exactly played the demo much. (Ive done other sims for many years though)
Congrats to our team for reasonable effort, and thanks for all racers.

Well the car seems more than a handfull so i would work on the setup, it will also help in weeding out the plenty mistakes which always take lot of time. Sometimes you brake early but still enter the apex too fast, causing a bad exit.. so really think about corner exits.

Ive done a 58,5 and ive only driven 3 laps with FO8. I reckon i used a default setup.

Practice practice practice, removing mistakes will take more time off for sure.

Quote from Nitwon :Yes well, some people are proud of their new wheel and want to show it off. So what? People put other useless stuff in their names like xXxXnoobXxXx and ==NaMe==[team][country]==, there's no stopping them really.

Yes i do think your name should be limited to a team tag and your name, without the pretty punctuation and symbols or Xs, but that's life, live with it.

+1, as they say around here.

Quote from pine-fin :I dislike those whose use outbraking. Usually they try to overbrake when I have already started to turn in

That method is not called outbraking, its divebombing..

Im usually very close on the safe areas (bumber to bumber),
but drop back for more tricky parts for few meters, often when you put enough pressure the other guy try defensive outbreaking on the corner, messing his exit.. and what you do is take a good exit, and you can gain a pass. Always must remember not to try overtaking in just any place, but plan well ahead, and also remember to hold back and not rush in carelessly. Sometimes if i outbrake i leave my move with the driving line as late as possible. You must take note where the other guy will brake, stay right behind.. then just a sec before his braking marker change line and outbrake him, he cant defend or it will mess his corner completely. This should be done on corners where you know you are strong in. Good tips?

Plan ahead.. take note where you are stronger than the poor bastard who will be passed soon.. Dont rush.. Its like chess, really.

Confusing post? Propably.. just woke up.. and i need ton of coffee before my brain wakes up!

I would recommend CTRA servers.. theres always some guys too who arent that understanding, but unless you make some ultra stupid moves you should be allright
Its best get used to someone giving strong feedback in this game, even when you have done nothing wrong.. It has happened few times that a guy overdoes a corner all by himself then starts accusing only because i was nearby, So harden yourself for such and just let it go when it happens.. and you realise theres lots of great regulars around that have great attitude and great racing.

Quote from U4IK ST8 :Incorrect... you can only put a minimum of £3 into your LFS credit. It is only £1 for 2000 skins.

http://www.lfs.net/?page=extra_services - "When you download your first hi-res skin, you will be assigned 2000 skins and £1 will be deducted from your LFS account balance."

LMAO! did it take 4-5 guys to try before it went right! :Eyecrazy:

Quote from alland44 :I had a lot of troubles getting it working in Lfs
Sometimes it worked, most of the time it didn`t, and Microsoft stopped backing the software up, years ago.

But as a first wheel, and if you are not sure about Lfs, then it is quite OK !

For the people that have seen the "brigth light", they should go to the momo or DFP

I would still recommend at least a dfp.. its not too expensive.. and gives a great feeling. No real reason to go for a non FFB wheel, unless its ECCI. :P

The way you experience the game with decent wheel can give a lil punch to get more into it.. i guess a matter of opinion.. but definitely.. At least dfp!
