Need help to setup Logitech G29 on 0.6P

I upgraded to the Logitech G29 from the Driving Force Pro just recently, but have not figured out how to set it up properly (I did search). At least LFS can tell what wheel I'm using.

I need help on:
-Clutch axis is recognized in the options, but does not work. Basically no manual clutch.
-Shifter works only auto-clutch, but I can sort of get the shifter to work under manual clutch for only a few gears by holding the upshift button I assigned to (still no manual clutch)
-Wheel rotation and force feedback changes in options has no effect

Many Thanks!

Golf Mk6. It's a 5-speed manual with the N/A 2.5L 5-cylinder. Wish the bolt pattern is the same as my other car so I could just swap wheels for the day.

Not really. At most you might get 5 years out of some brake fluid. The more humid the atmosphere, the sooner you have to change it.

A lot of people don't know brake fluid needs to be maintained. Over 80% of the cars I serviced has pitch-black or funny-coloured brake fluid.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Brake fluid is hygroscopic, that means is absorbs water. Through general use the water boils away, you get gas in the lines, gas compresses, this means that your get a spongy pedal. There is nothing you can do to prevent brake fluid from absorbing water. Some of the newer fluids are more resistant to absorption of water, but it is an inevitability. So regularly fluid changes are the only preventative measure you can take.

You got the point!
I finally went to my first track day!

I always wanted to go to a track day and finally made my dream come true. I'd like to go either Infineon Raceway or Laguna Sega, but most of the ones I can find are more than I'd like to spend or I have to at least drive on a track once with any club. Thunderhill Raceway is the next closest track to me and happen to find a club having their first track day over there. Pricing is relatively inexpensive, so I signed up.

Since I had never driven on a track, I have to go through a "driving school" rungroup. Despite the many on-board videos I watched, the track felt smaller and narrower in reality. The first two sessions were there to show us the track at a slow pace and also practice how to "Point-By" faster people to pass (not like you can "Blue Flag Spam" the person ahead lol). The last three are on our own pace.

Due to the fact that the gearing is quite long and not very successful at heel-and-toe (my first manual car), I drove around in 3rd gear and it's enough to get around the track. My goal for this particular track day is to have fun and drive at the limit the best I can with very crappy OE tire and stock brake fluid. However, the car is too quiet to hear with my helmet on. The first session was ok, then I took a turn too early and ran off track at the outlap of the 2nd session. The last one I start pushing harder. The tires just don't have the grip under hard enough braking. As soon as I went back to the paddock, I can't use the emergency brake because it's too hot to the point that smoke is coming out. Brake pedal felt a bit funny afterwards, but still ok drivable. Not to worry, I made an appointment for brake fluid swap to some better ones.

I'd love to go again, but I'm going to add a bit more power and decide on which sway bar to get and see how much difference will that make. Right now it's about 3 minutes to go around a lap.

Is it just me? It looks like some of my sets may be altered after the update. At least I noticed on the XFG sets I have have whacky camber values that is not the same as before.

@madbikes

I'd be too embarrassed to drive an Itasha IRL, unless it was that ZnT LX4 skin on a Caterham/Westfield.

I think the LX4/6 type of car isn't very suitable as a Itasha although it's doable.

Actually... I had a chance to talk to a guy who show his Itasha in tuner car shows (a somewhat frequent shower). He said he heard good things when bringing his car to anime conventions. When he first did it, I was like "meh" until he did a Black Rock Shooter Itasha that actually looks good.

That'll work.

Alright... I took a couple pictures of the paperweight I obtained from the engine so far.

Out of shape wrist pin. The other side seems ok.

I needed to find out how the engine is jammed so I can remove the flex plate (mine is automatic). As it turned out the top portion of the connecting rod was preventing the engine from turning. That didn't take long to remove.

ok... the engine is out of the car with the transaxle. Since I have to separate the transaxle, I was able to make the engine spin freely. It turned out a small part of the connecting rod was lodged on the crankshaft that was preventing me to crank it. Now I have a damaged wrist pin and connecting rod as paperweight. The bottom of the connecting rod is still on the crank.

I guess I'm quite late into the thread. Zero no Tsukaima is awesome (never read the light novel though). I don't watch anime as much as some thought, but I don't mind to watch them when someone recommends me to do so. Some of the great not-so-mainstream anime I watched includes "Seto no Hanayome" (My Bride is a Mermaid), "Hayate no gotoku" (Hayate the Combat Butler) and "Nagasarete Airantou" (Cast Away: Airan Island).

Quote from LineR32 :I'm thinking of getting some stuff from the site but gonna have to check exchange rates and import taxes before I do.

That won't work, tried a few pics in different places before I got this design.

Edit: Just added the ZnT logo to the hood and website for J.C. Staff as well as my race number and Caterham logos.

I might do another LX anime skin at some point.

Me want's. http://www.jlist.com/product/PRE026 (Jehuty from Z.O.E.)

That's a good start! Just because not everyone can have a itasha in real life doesn't mean you can't have a virtual one. I like it.

Anyone into Touhou Project here? It's a "bullet-hell" shooting game, but there's a very large fan base for fan works (music/manga). I suck at it, but provides hours of simple fun before I go play something else when I can't focus well. There are tons of fan manga, but I'm particularly on Touhou Sangetsusei. This is one of the official manga/literature that mainly describe happenings in Gensokyo, where the whole game takes place, through the perspective of three mischievous fairies: Sunny Milk, Luna Child and Star Sapphire. It may not have the best storyline like mainstream manga, but I find it very fun to read. The first volume/book didn't start out as good until the second volume, which the name is slightly changed and it's not by the same manga artist. Three books later, the series goes into another volume with a slight plot change.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to skin a car. Otherwise I would like to make one with the three fairies in it.

Quote from senn :Time for an upgrade, 2zz perhaps?

Buying a 2ZZ-FE Matrix will save me time in the long run. Besides, doing a swap like that is quite a bit of work and the car can worth nothing. Actually, if your car is auto, just by converting to manual will loose a good chunk of value of the car. Besides, a lot of people don't know I have a deadline to meet to get the car out of school. So no time to mess around with thing like that.

Quote from Ricerguy :Any idea of the cause?

Nope.

I started working on it today. Showed a couple people of the blown internals. This time, however, it looks like the top of the piston is still inside. At the end of the day I was like "let's rinse the wrist pin in the parts washer so I can take home as a paperweight". It's deformed on one side and has a couple cracks.

You're just plain lucky. Wait until you make hard turns and see if your low oil pressure light comes on (by then you have near zero pressure). What year is your Corolla?

Toyota Matrix with the 1ZZ-FE. This engine can be found in the 9th gen Corolla/7th gen Celica/1st gen Voltz/1st gen Matrix/1st gen Pontiac Vibe (same as the Voltz). There is an earlier version where the intake manifold is metal.

You can buy a TRD/GM Performance Supercharger (same unit, different badge) to slap it on, which is discontinued. If you're not lucky, you can have a blown 1ZZ-FE <100K miles/160K kilometers with little to no mods.
Just something to share. My engine blew.

Well. At some point in time, I once said I would like to drive my car until something catastrophic happens. The moment came last Saturday. Heard a could loud metal knocks, which isn't a good thing, when I was about 10 blocks away from where I was supposed to be at the time. I study Auto Tech (fix cars), so I'm capable of swapping an engine and I was somewhat sure that was the problem. I towed my car back to school to fix it. Since I have no school for a week (spring break) and the engine can't come in time before the holiday, there is time to do a detailed inspection.

As it turned out #1 cylinder is shot.

These metal pieces are found on top of the oil and does not suggest anything small at all.

Looking inside the oil pan suggests it's something major.

The connecting rod is damaged

The block is also damaged too

I noticed a metal piece on top of the oil pickup tube and didn't realize it's the wrist pin until it dropped on the floor.

I was being made fun of by my instructor that I have a problem and how can I possibly blow up a Toyota. The thing is the particular engine I have is known not a strong engine if you're unlucky. Now let the remove and replacement begin!

Quote from freddyalek90 :I play LFS in HD on my notebook. See attached pic.

BTW, in the pic (camera: iPhone 3Gs) you can spot 2/3 Apple related products: my iPhone dock, my iPod "Fat" Nano 3G, syncing, and my melamorsicata.it pencil (an Italian, Apple-related blog). I'm not like the OP, though.

I love my iPhone, but it isn't just right to play LFS on.

So much win in the picture!
