Quote from JasonJ :DHRammstein mentioned this problem he had with an ATi card. Do you have ATi by any chance? Maybe it's a common fault?

No, it's an nVidia card.

Quote from Funnybear :Have you happened to update Windows vista at about the same time. I am suffering the same thing, but, it's a vista update issue rather than LFS. I am still trying to get to the bottom of it myself, It's really messing up my lap times . . . .hehe.

LFS runs in Windows XP, I don't have Vista, only XP and 7. Also, absolutely nothing has changed other than the update.

EDIT: Interestingly enough, it only happens upon my own car losing grip, such as when drifting or if i over/understeer when racing.. (NOT at smoke, other cars can smoke all they want and it doesn't happen then)

I just let LFS update to Z25, the framerate is the same but now I notice stuttering (looks like a frame skip of 1, at ~200 fps minimum) and it is annoying me to hell What is going on here? NOTHING has changed other than this, and just minutes before I updated it (SP mode) it was running just fine

Every connection is just fine, it is a really weird issue...
However, a more serious problem has now surfaced: I now have a PCI card so that i can connect it to my main pc, which i did.. now the leds are on and the dot of the 7seg is on, driver works fine as such, but Parmon can't start because of XP's protection, that somehow didn't happen on the first PC i was testing it on.
Furthermore this card is designated LPT3, and has an address space of CE00-CE07.. What address do i need to fill in into the config? I'm really lost here

Today i got mine working too, but there's one weird thing:
I have set the thing up so that the five LEDs are actually four LEDs on the board, and the one dot on the 7-segment display.
If ANY of those five lights turn on, any of the seven segments currently on will turn very VERY dim, you can barely even see that it's on anymore..

Why is this? i've already checked ALL the connections, they're not shorted anywhere on the board.

I can turn on all of those five extra lights on together, no problem at all, the same with turning on only all 7 segments, that works fine too!

Other than that this is a great thing

I voted for Driebergen just because it's cheap and a nice track to drive.. I have no intention of spoiling a nice little ride because of some people talking crap about it, and to those people, fyi: the rental karts are brand new, so no, no "dump karts"...

Quote from traxxion :So if I understand correctly they don't have preset arrangements? If not, I'd suggest to make our own format (free practise, qualifying, race, final) and let them make a price for it depending on how many people show up.

They have one basic type that most customer groups do: Heats of 3 or 4 people at a time, with a score-based elimination system, with or without judging fastest laptimes, gradually getting to the final contestants.
That's what most people do anyway, to get the real element of competition in it, rather than endurance

Okay, i've been to the track and because of replacement they have 15 karts ready to go at any time, meaning there would be two "classes" of drivers, or just two random groups. Those could then run X amount of time, to be determined by us..

The thing is, if we don't determine that, we won't know real prices, unless we choose to rent out the whole track for the duration of four hours (assuming 2 groups for 2 hours), which is really REALLY expensive, obviously.. (although still less expensive than renting out other tracks in the Netherlands, but still)

So on the basic system the prices-per-heat still count, making it pretty cheap.

My father can pull a few strings there to hopefully get a good price out of renting the track for the whole duration, should i try that? Unless you guys think the per-heat prices are fine of course! Ahwell, i can always try eh :P

Quote from niels1 :Anyway back to the topic.

Is anyone making notes ro doing something. Otherwise this is just a thread of who is interested and nothing else ?.

I will go to the track here when it opens (today in 15 minutes) and i'll ask about pricing details, like i've said before..

It's raining like hell here, but i know the owner of the Driebergen track, so i'll go ask for the prices for about 15-20 people for 2 hours or so.. i'll do that tomorrow, as i have lots of free time then.

Atleast i know it's not expensive.. Oh btw, the "slow" karts have GX180 engines, so yes 180cc, and the fast karts have the same GX180 blocks, but delimited (i could delimit them as i worked there as a track aid manager and stuff lol, it's one red plug to pull on the engine ^_^ )

the REALLY fast karts are the 6 karts that very few people even here know of, those six all have twin 180cc blocks xD
My dad converted those karts from the standard about 8 years ago and they're fast as hell when handled properly.. those things are expensive to drive (the engines aren't stock so they use LOTS of fuel lol) and mostly private though.. but i'd stick to the single-engine karts here, fast enough you can't get to the top speed on those here either when delimited physically, and then you're already doing about 95 km/h @ 9750 RPM so yeah..

Anyway, as i said i'll report some estimates tomorrow!

Quote from Chrisuu01 :Whel need to se wicth track so we can se if some guy need to take a train and maybe even busses(me hates busses)

But if some guy have other guys their homes in their routes maybe,
some guy can pick up guy who cannot drive a car yet?

But is it me ore do those karts on the piture look realy slow?

The single-engine karts have small displacement but have a top speed (at this track, real top speed is much higher) of around 95 km/h, the revlimiter (i always turn it off, easy) limits that to 80 km/h because people here usually crash at higher speeds lol

The twin-engine karts have two of those engines, non-limited with a heavier back gear, makes it do around 125 on that track, 135 on the straight if you really know some better lines there (the less obvious ones )

Quote from hrtburnout :Could you be so nice to bring them a visit, and see how much it'd cost for a group of 15 or 20 people for two hours?

i'll do that first thing tomorrow!

Kartbaan Driebergen....

------------
ENGLISH:

I don't live far from there
A very nice track, lots of fun, been driving there myself since the day before my 4th birthday! (don't believe it? i've got a photo on my desk, i'll scan it if needed lol)

At that track, if more people come (or even rent down the track for 1/2 day), it will be relatively cheaper, so that's not a problem i'd say

On Kevin (both me and DriftKing)'s behalf, I now announce that the race day is now full, at 18 people, due to allocated bandwidth (there's room for 18/18 people, so 18 people racing simultaneously! =) )
The server is being set up tomorrow, any news regarding this drift day will be posted here from now on!
