Quote from Anthoop :You have joined more hosts than laps done...lol

Well yeah xD I joined various hosts for different builds but I have been around Blackwood heaps! I guess the laps count in terms of actual races, most hosts are just 'practise' or time lap based servers.

When playing online it is not only race laps recorded.
Looking at your stats and your join date of around 11 months ago then I would say you have hardly played the game.
When I was playing I would have done similar distance/laps in a day or two......but if you are having fun then who cares...

There are many people on this forum that have played LFS pretty hardcore....both demo and S1/2....click the forum name then click online stats to see...

I had another account named 'TheUnknownThing' which was made over 2 years ago. I just abandoned that particular account for some reason.

I have been playing demo only for more than a year... :D

I love LFS. Why? Because of how in depth it is with its customization (performance wise) and the wide range of different setups to try. I have driven so many laps in Blackwood its not even funny. I also play this game on Linux and runs fairly good! Of course I will be buying it hopefully one day but I can live with LFS Tweaker and fairly high latency servers (I am in Australia xD) Also, I am Turkish so its like home xDDDD

In conclusion, is it weird to play so much demo? Let me know what you think!

PS: I run it in wine if you are wondering how I play it!

I switched to Ubuntu 14.04 and it should work fine with any wine version that is 1.7.x

Oh I see.. You never know, development may start to pick up. I might look into iracing or Project Cars though. But I still love LFS and will continue to play it!

Can we have a native Linux version? Please?

I want this game so bad to be on Linux natively. No errors and then I would pay my money for S2. I seriously want to buy the full game (S2 License) and run it under linux with no problems. I have faced graphical problems in Ubuntu but none in Fedora (weirdly) but I can over come them and fix it. A native Linux version would perhaps boost FPS performance if is on OpenGL. I really want one and I'm sure many others do too! Please bring this to Linux dev!

Thanks!

I agree, but right now it is just fine with me. Just a suggestion.

Well I got lots of frame drops here and there in Blackwood. You using 32 libraries in wine or is it just 64bit?
Will this game be on a platform? Like GOG?

I know the answer will probably no but how about a game this good on a platform? I am not saying I WANT it, hell I actually prefer it to be standalone, but wouldn't it be nice to have it on GoG or something? Steam is heavy on DRM but just a thought. I still prefer it like this though Smile

What are your thoughts?

Perhaps a native Linux version? It runs excellent in WINE but a native would help improve FPS and maybe allow us to connect wheels/joysticks. I love this game and will buy S2 when I can.

Or perhaps more demo content, one more track and perhaps a few extra cars. Anyways, I love LFS!!

Can I buy S1 for 12 pounds then upgrade for 12 pounds once again? Or I might just buy the S2 straight away as there are barely any S1 servers.
Is S1 Worth it?

I am looking to buying a full LFS license but I am wondering, is S1 any good?
Does tweak tool for LFS work under linux?
StickyBranches
Demo licensed
I've been playing LFS under Wine for a long time and will perhaps buy S2 soon. My question is, did anyone successfully run NTO or LFS Tweak Tool under wine? I have ran it but I am guessing it needs .NET libraries for it to work, it just crashes on me. I will check into it and apply some libraries, in the meantime, has anyone actually successfully got it to work?

If so, tell us how!

Cheers!

Quote from Chriship :Even if they add more currencies the price will stay the same for you. The price is 24GBP, and you can make as many conversions as you want that it wont be cheaper... So directly for you it does not matter if the currency is GBP (24) or AUD (40 or not sure how much)

I guess. Smile
LFS s2 a little expensive?

Well I have been playing LFS for a long time on my old account and now back with this account Big grin I am deciding to buy LFS s2 as there are great tracks to race on and more player slots per server. I wanted to see if there was AUD or USD but only pounds which is annoying for me. 1 pound is around $1.90 AUD which is crazy! However, I will save up and buy S2 as it is my main racing sim, will the dev add other currencies in the store?

Thanks!

Well, on wine there are FPS drops but I haven't experienced any sudden sound pauses. 0.6H imo runs very good compared to the older versions as they were nearly unplayable!

Quote from Scawen :The libraries you normally need to install are d3dx9_43.dll and d3dcompiler_43.dll

Yes! I used to use them but now it runs perfectly without them. Some people might have an altered WINE installation which is causing the problem, or even their drivers.
Horray! 0.6h works perfectly under WINE Linux! (Fedora 21)

In the earlier versions, 0.6f/g, I encountered various problems but in the updated version, it seems that all the problems are gone!

Specs tested and played on:
Intel Q6700 2.66ghz
4GB Ram
1.5TB Seagate HDD
Nvidia GT 630 2GB /w proprietary Nvidia drivers
OS: Fedora 21 64bit
Wine: Latest 1.7.3X and up

Problems in earlier versions:
- Car/Player models were messed up!
- Car skins wouldn't download
- Various error messages would pop-up when someone joined!
- Bad framerate
- Was basically unplayable in 0.6G!

Problems in 0.6H
None! Big grin

The only library I had enabled in wine was to disable dwrite. However, I don't think this would have an impact on it.

LFS runs like as if its native for Linux! FPS is well above 60 (with filters off) and even player skins download! I haven't touched Windows for a long time and now happy one of my favorite simulators is working perfectly! Pretty there are no visible bugs or graphical issues! Thank you so much devs!

Post below if you run LFS under WINE!

Quite some servers though. And majority is demo weird enough. Although there are Turkish servers which dominate the list (which I can talk to them as I speak it) I don't see how LFS is 'nobody here' You need to know that people join at different timezones. I know this as I have been playing for over a year.
