As I said, I'm going off of what ive heard.

If you would've closer read my post, you would realise that I haven't tried Vista yet. That is why im contemplating 32 instead of 64.

Actually its the opposite, Windows Hardware Quality Labs have to test any new release drivers before they are allowed to be installed on any specific Operating System (in this case, Vista). This prevents any mixups with drivers to create problems with hardware. Windows XP doesn't have this problem because WHQL support is disabled at default.

Quote from Monkeymike :I'd go Vista 64 with that rig. Even on 4GB it's more stable and has better drivers than 32.

According to what i've heard, Vista 64 is infamous for bad driver support.

Well, lets wait and see what happens, if I have a nice experience with Vista 32, I'll probably end up formatting and installing 64.

Well recently my friend has set a new laptime on some track with a BF1, and i would class my self (most dominantley) as a drifter, he said to me, "give it a try"..

I tried, and managed to make a full lap around, being close to spinning about 5 times, and being overtaken by all the good racers, I got 1:25.43 or something. Which was about 30 seconds off of his time.

Racing is hard, and so is drifting, but it takes time to perfect both styles of driving and thats just what some people dont realise (especcially the 7oky0 d12if77 l33t n00bz.)

Quote from Kajojek(PL) :http://www.digimods.co.uk/tutorials/tutorials.htm Not really a good one but you get the point, you can always experiment and make it more realistic. Also you can try painting with different brushes. Also you might want to look at www.good-tutorials.com Hope this helps a little.

Thanks alot mate that will keep me going for hours!

Im just going to have a redo at the motion blur in the windows and see if it works out well, im going to try some other stuff aswell!

Id reccommend that site to anyone who uses photoshop because it has things for new users and experienced users.

How many RAM slots does a computer have?
Does it depend on your motherboard?

EDIT - On the topic of motherboards, will mine support an 8800GT?
EDIT - Thanks for explaining RAM, i bet that took you a while to type up..

Thanks for the quick reply mate, are you sure 2MB of RAM will be enough for running games?

Ive found a couple of products from ebuyer;
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/116755 - 2GB RAM - £40
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131950 - Quad Core processor - £170
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135024 - Graphics Card (8800GT) - £180

Would this work well on my computer or would i need to upgrade certain things for example motherboard, PSU etc.

PS - If someone would be as kind as to tell me what the purpose of RAM is, i would be very greatful!
New computer or Upgrades?

Hi guys, so basically, i was looking for upgrades for my computer as a christmas present, yeah i know its early but i might be able to get them early

I put a post on thecomputerforums.co.uk but they dont seem to reply.

Here is my current specs;
#Running System - Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 2
#Motherboard - Intel 82801FB Ultra ATA Storage - 2651
#Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce 6200 LE 128MB
#CPU/Processor - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.06GHz
#RAM - 1024MB

I was thinking of;
#NVIDIA 8600GT or 8800GT
#3MB RAM
#Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Energy Efficient 95W edition Socket 775 (2.40GHz) G0 Stepping L2 8MB Cache OEM Processor

So basically im just wondering whether i should scrap my current PC and buy a new one or upgrade the one ive got now, and if so, what upgrades?

My budget for a new GFX Card, CPU and RAM is £400.

Feel free to ask any more questions and ill try my hardest to answer them.

Thanks in advance..

EDIT - Try this guide with your current version, it might work.

NOTE - to run bespoke you have to be running version V, well im sure there is other versions what you can run it for, but i know version V works, so its all good =D

Download of version v -
http://files.filefront.com/Liv ... o/;6403779;/fileinfo.html

Instructions ;

1. Put the .exe of bespoke in your LFS version V folder.
2. Run the .exe of bespoke, you should get the following window,
http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/9605/bespoke1en7.jpg
3. Run LFS version V and go back to bespoke.
4. Click File>Open and open whichever wheel you like, then click LFS>Export to LFS...
(http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7787/bespoke2rw4.jpg)
5. Open LFS version V back up and select any command (exit pit, enter pit, start race) to allow the wheels to load to the game and voila! New wheels!

Hope you liked my little guide lol, i suppose i have nothing better to do at 3.14AM

Quote from Thoma :# Intel Pentium D 805 Processor
# 2.66GHz, 533MHz FSB, 2MB Cache
# 1024MB DDR RAM
# 160GB Hard Disk Drive
# 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6200 LE Graphics

And I'm on around 20-30FPS while driving online with no-one around me Think I've only ever seen it go over 30 and touch 40 once.

Any-one got any ideas how I can squeeze more out of it?

Hey, my computer is exactly the same except i have 3.06Ghz and i limit my framerate to 30fps because if i dont my steering goes all laggy.

Without limits i do normally get 35-45fps.. Full grids make me go back down to the 15-22fps mark.

edit: Im sure by your knowledge of computers you do have the latest drivers for your graphics card. I downloaded them but the only thing that changed was the Nvidia Control Panel and i probably got 2-3fps better.. So they are pretty useless but its good knowing that your computer is up to date.
