yep, best lap is something i am missin as well... i can't see my best lap on the track. just when i finish a lap, it appears for a while... cant have it all the time. and i can't remember if it used to be so before the patch or not... have i misconfigured a setting accidently?
well, for sure in case of any boxed version is out, it won't be the same LFS around so far... maybe not in the beginning but later the big boss will ask for more fashion, as they only care about the income tables... and this is biz-world, so will force developer team to get larger, that will make more people putting nose on what the creators have dreamed so far... remember, it is their imagination what came out and what we have in hands now... their point of view, and seems so far, they don't want to change this thing... new souls will put new 'suggestions' to make this 'boring lapping tool' (we call LFS, greatest simulation) more exciting game... and it will be leading to a new kindda NFS without any goals... so this is what i am afraid of, to lose what we have in hands already. i mean the way LFS still following is what we enjoy, what makes it different from others... so thanx to devs + contributing users for the process... what i belive is what makes LFS special is the amateur soul it still has, in developing and in the path it leads to...
not only being a newbie in lfs, but also not very good in art thing ... but a dearest friend sent me what she made after she heard about this skinnin' thing and how it works by templates etc... have a look what she made for me ... well, not a very race-wise cool sketch but i loved it anyway will be on the track with it for a while for sure ... if you meet me, don't forget to bring your diving suit

sorry if the question sounds silly but i wonder, is it any use to have a fps more than screen fresh rate?, no matter how fast the game have the frames changed, the g-card will only display freshrate amount of refreshes on the actual screen...
and also another question: how does limiting fps on lfs helps, and for what?, isn't it better to let the computer do at his best for any reason?, what's the idea behind limiting fps?

i am a newbie around as well... on lfsworld seen a hot lap record on k-oval with uf1, and got 8-10 sec. close to it, i tried 'till i was pretty sure it was not about my experiance only. then got tuned the car for the first time, read lots on the net for setups, and what is for what etc. got the top speed higher, as this was only what i needed almost. and other stuff by experiment, which effects what etc. then now close to world record at 1.33 secs
, this was a real fun for a sunday... so yeah, now i understand as well how this game addicts people around... i am still at xfg trying to learn... didnt want to go to other cars yet. i know it will be a step by step long road, and i felt this is where the fun is...after W, i've noticed the same as well, thought it was cuz of my humble system... well, it is not a major lag in mine, but i can notice a skin is downloaded before reading the notification text
... more like a lock-up than lag... hope my explanation helps...also i would like to share my momo - first week experiance as well...
it is still running fine, sensitive in wheel control, but after 2-3 days, i've begun to feel a very week plastic 'tick' when wheel turning back to center after short right turns etc... it has no effect in the sensitive driving in game, but the sound begins to tickle your mind + you begin to try if it happens again and again, and it is on your mind if it is growing up or not... also i can feel the smal gap in the wheel that you can shake it (very little so far) beside the directions of the axis... i dont want to open it up yet, just first week...
most probably such 'getting old' issues are typical after beginning to use the wheel, as it is mainly made out of plastic.. but i can't decide which is regular which is not as this is my first driving wheel...

i had the same, and lowered the graphics quality and helped some (trade off?) while trying to avoid my computer/graph. card etc lock ups... need time to check if i meet lockups again... maybe limiting frame rate helps some as well, actually i dont know what it is for technically, compared to pushing hard to do what could be done at best.
