Good luck to everyone on the last race of the series. Sorry I can't be there to wreck...err...*RACE* everyone.

Kudos again to Dan for setting up the series. Good times.

Looks like I will likely miss the last two races of the season. Can I get a Seasonal Rusty Screw for having to travel for work?

Fun series, though, and good racing all around. Thanks for putting it together, Dan.

WIND! changes everything.

Watching the race 1 replay, I believe I was the only car that didn't make contact with the outside wall in T1. I noticed the engine revs were WAY higher than during qualifying and dragged the brakes on the entrance. [sound of patting self on back... ]

I ran out of gas just as I crossed the finish in race 2.

I'd give the Rusty Screw to Gil. Leading the whole race except for the final straightaway, then finishing 5th, has gotta hurt.

I think it's fine also. Especially since that track had no pit stalls.

Quote from JayEyeBee :I have been having some minor guilt pangs at my use of this tactic. Is this ok, or do the racers and admin feel this is unsportsmanlike?

BUMMER!

I'm going to miss the Fire-wrecks race; I have to go to Seattle that week. I've raced from a hotel before (the Kyoto race, in fact -- see the attached), but with the timezone difference, there's no chance this time.

burn up some tires on my behalf.

I was driving the course in reverse for an added challenge... didn't know my times were being so closely watched!

If you put Al Gore on the side of your car, will it start pulling to the left?

I went with the "converted taxicab" theme... an idea stolen from some real crapcans in the 24 Hours of Lemons.

Not sure if it stacks up against some of the rest of the competition, but most of the car is actually colored in by crayon. I colored some pieces of paper with swatches of different colors, photographed them, and then cut-and-pasted pieces into the skin.

Watching the replay, I also might put Boothy in the running for the Screw award for his contact-induced "off" in race 2. One of them racing deals...
On the other hand, the recovery and minimal lost time was either incredible skill, amazing luck, or both.

That battle at the end of race 1 with Jay and Gil was really, really fun.

For me, it wasn't the wind, another car, or anything rusty-screw-worthy... I just got lazy and sloppy and goofed up all by myself in the dirt S-turns, tagged a wall and broke my front shock. Very disappointing, but can't blame anyone or anything but myself.

I think Cabby may have had a car actually _land_ on him in the esses on lap 1. But I might give the Rusty Screw to Paul, who was in podium position with a great race setup in the first race and wound up on his roof.

May not count, as it was more of a mistake, but the picture looks cool I think. I'll leave it up to the judges. T1 Race 1 my RR got some air over a curb and I almost looped it.

I got these two off of SetupGrid I think... one of them is a hotlap setup, but they may be a good start...
Fun first race!

Very good racing, good battles all around. Extremely clean racing considering the rallycross setting, all the sliding and bouncing around, and the 'beater' car paint jobs. I don't know about you guys, but my paint job makes me WANT to run my car into something...

Any plans to resurrect the STCC 3b "silver and up" server (LX4, LX6, RAC)on CTRA? I was actually starting to like those things...

Thanks to UKCT for taking these over, and to Becky for setting it all up in the first place.
