Tristan - count me in (assuming I've not managed to stumble onto your sh*t list...)

Pick a weekend in January and I'll try to make it - and if anyone wants to lift share from Wilts / Glos - you're welcome to risk my RL road skillz

Good evening folks,

now I'm not one to rant (despite my avatar) but I'm very disappointed with the driving I saw tonight on Race3. I'm not going to raise a report - unless you can report an entire replay (22:58:30 ish at the re-start).

Normally races on Race3 fall into a pattern - GT1s rush off, GT2s get into their own tussle, and if the race is long enough us GT2s might have to watch out for being lapped.

Tonight the race descended into chaos at Aston GT. I spent the race watching out for an endless series of damaged GT1s hurtling back past me into the dog-fight - and then a lap or less later, past they hurtled again.

This is just not what I've come to expect and enjoy on CTRA servers - usually without a doubt the most sensible of places. Races are hard but fair, there are inevitably a few incidents, usually met with an apology and awaiting the unfortunate victim to re-pass, then the fun resumes.

What the heck was going on tonight? OK I've said my bit.

I'll be back in a while to see if the proper racing has returned - I do hope so.

Regards and respect,

Jack L.

Quote from Mille Sabords :<snip>

This because I do not see anybody making the move and starting a race to attract others when it means having to run 4 laps of Kyoto GP long in a UF-BR alone.
What are your thoughts?

Hi,

I think if you are the only one on the server, you can request end-of-race (shift-X IIRC) and then see which track it offers you next?

And on the topic - much as I enjoyed the babyR, I'm hooked on Race3 lately because that's where the action is. I guess it's self fulfilling.

How about suggesting a "meet"? If there are enough people who'd race babyR "if only there were enough others there to make it fun" surely that would get some momentum?

Quote from Becky Rose :This is actually a very good suggestion. It's actually one we cant just drop and implement as it needs a whole new set of background data and stats tracking etc, but I like this general idea. There's some complications to figure out - pitstops in longer races etc. whether we'll even have those or not I dont know. It's certainly something for me to get my grey matter pondering on.

Hi - here's a quick thought to tickle the grey matter. Presumably at present you keep track of the driver's fastest lap for your algorithm. What about a rolling "average" lap time? That would smooth out the single hot lap. Discount the first lap and any lap with a pit-stop in it.

A better indicator of overall pace? And you wouldn't need to compile or compare race times (which as you say would be complex given race distance and pitstops).

Greets,

and sorry if I've missed this info already, but I'm intrigued about the new license - is the picture user definable? If so - how big and what format (e.g. just jpeg?)
