Well, i have played LFS for many years. in 2006 when i started with it it nearly catched me everyday until 2012/13 or so. but the big part of the community who made the leagues and races wich lfs made so great for me are gone mostly. Also had lfs by far the best paintings for a long time with no money for them. we as painters just posted public skins and so on. The community back in the days were just great overall. i cant judge about the current state since i am out of it for many years now. But if you say 200 players on a normaly day. its not enough for a racing game. Because some go drifting, cruising, demo, and some try to race. But the competition we all love about racing is mostly gone here i think. I am with yann here. lfs wont comeback near to any of the peaks it has had. Even with a new physic it will be hard. Out int he simracing scene no one knows about it. and i.e. iracing does a good job even there are costs. But in todays times people buy rigs and wheels for 1000 of euros so they dont care about buying cars or tracks if they get something good.

The whole skinning community is nearly dead. i mean the ones who loved it to design the cars. Folks of mogster, c40z, schuppor, gerdoner, and all the other great ones. the high of skinning in lfs was around the years of 2008-2012. That were quality skinning. Since most of us skinners left lfs for other sims its nearly dead wich makes me sad.

PS.: I know i didnt listed all of the greats but they know who they are and what we have done for this game with our love to the skinning itself. Wink

as a advanced skinner i realy need to say TRY GIMP. You´re skins are lowres because you´reusing small templates. Look at http://skinnerz.proboards.com/ to get the "pro-kits" wich are in 2048px². You dont need to use the layers. But you should make a easy skin with some line on a 512px template and on a 2048px template. import them to lfs and you will see the difference.

The difference between gimp and paint is that you can draw clean lines. If you draw the same line in paint it will look like stairs in you house. You can clearly see the effect on your skins. Download gimp if you have no chance for photoshop and make the same line. you will see the difference. Aswell save the files as jpg. never do bitmapfiles. they´re reducing your files to much and are much bigger overall.

A other point is to get more time for one skin. don´t paint 2 lines and say you´re done. Did you ever watched a real racecar? Most of them have sponsors. You can add them with the layers in gimp very easy. you also can swap them around without a problem. But as Niko said its about practise. When i started skinning with photoshop i also had to learn the layer functions. it took some time but i think i did very well.

You don´t need to make artworks like me. But may google racecarlivery to get some inspirations. Ther´re easy designs wich look quite good. And try to make something "real".

A normal skin i made in the past(the good ones of me) took me atleast 3hours minimum. To get the aligning etc done.

Its justa advice and i hope you will get it and try it.

cheers

PS.: Also never copy things from a photo and put it on a skin. it looks horrible.

In my opinion LFS has only one chance to come back. They have to bring out S3 and it MUST be the sim overall. I don´t think you will get the old lfsdrivers back. they cutted away with LFS mostly. They´re looking here and there in forums but overall i havnt seen any of the old topdrivers for years now. Even i am a big fan of lfs and i was very late with jumping over to iRacing. But i.E. hte new Westhill. I noticed its release and also got some chats with active drivers who said its awesome. But it didnt get me on the track. i updated my lfs a week ago when niceguy and firemike joined me here at my living place to have some fun on autocrosslayouts. And i am also not in the mood to test the track. because there is not really the competition like 2 years ago. LFS needs to get a update wich bring a lot of new drivers in. And i think thats the hardest thing to do.

the enviroment looks great but the track looks not that challenging anymore. The chicane were awesome. even the corners looks bit wide in the movie. will test the track but not sure if you got me back with this. :/

CoRe goes 10 !

After many months of planning and a lot of work to do in general, CoRe SimRacing is pleased to announce
their overall refresh for 2015!

As the team is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary we decided to make a jump forward and making this a nice present
to ourselves. A complete new and cleaned website, new designs, logos, media sections and an updated
line-up aswell is going to provide us with fresher content to continue in the sim-racing business.
We still have to sort out stuff as maintenance on our website and commercial sites aswell but those will be all online soon, too!
Because of these gentle contributions by our current members we are pretty sure that this leap forward will give
us a big boost towards future.

Known as CoRe SimRacing from today on we are looking forward to the next years of racing with you out there.
And maybe if you are still searching a team in iRacing or LFS to learn of, feel free to send us an
convincing application about yourself!

Visit us at our new website www.coresimracing.com

The CoRe SimRacing Team – 10 YEARS STRONG

As a sidenote: There are drivers you know from CoRe wich are not shown in the driverslist. They are still a part of the team. Most of our LFS-Division drivers are inactive lately because of the current status LFS has shown in last months. When LFS make new progress again we may will be more active in LFS also with our old well known drivers.

Quote from TFalke55 :#31 codename Blitz

just a note. you posted a fxo skin?

-------

Quote :The numberboard has to be on the bonnet, not on the roof.

Quote :1. All car skins must display the required numberboards on both sides between the wheels and the bonnet/hood of the car as well as the provided sunstrip.
