Hey there racers!

Quote from Mysho :The typical process for every (serious) racer:

1. Be entertained with LFS for first couple of years
2. Join leagues, win races, be happy about what you achieved
3. When you have time, do some hotlaps, upload it to LFSW and see how awesome you are
4. Be less entertained with LFS for next couple of years
5. Be sad about old content and that you still drive same old thing over and over again without lack of updates which you were used to
6. Stop playing LFS that much
7. Start occupying forum instead of turning on LFS
8. Raise your post count, don't turn LFS at all from now on
9. Moan about how old LFS is and how you don't have time for that because your real life finally advanced somewhere
10. Remember some nostalgie memories every now and then
11. Be still around if something pops up in following 5 years.
12. Never give up on LFS as a whole, because it did find you some friends and gave some really nice memories in past

That sums it up for me, except I never won races Maaaaaaaaaybe I'll buy a wheel again if there is ever a real update.

Cheers to all of you!
Congrats to Cabby

well deserved, I wish I had your consistency.

Thanks to all for the fun races and competition. Now promise to never have an RB4 series again!

Quote from Danke :The event organizers at South City have erected (hehe) a memorial in our honor after this week's race. They've sent some pictures of the memorial, dedicated to the people who crashed under the bridge in race 1, lap 2.

...our RF suspensions will live on in our memories. R.I.P. :weeping::weeping::weeping:

That's racing, I suppose. For the record I'm not pissed off or accusing anybody of anything shady, I'm just frustrated. I have come to really dislike the RB4, it's a horrible POS. See you next week.

Quote from Danke :That tailwind in race 1 into the bridge turn sure claimed a lot of victims. It took me half of the second race to even try that turn in 5th again.

The end of race 2 looked a lot like the BTCC. Whatever the opposite of a rusty screw is, T-Sho gets it. Please PM me for protests.

PM, Schmee M. I didn't save the replay. Just look it over and do what you think is right.

At the end of race 2 I was severely handicapped by a dark brown right front so I positioned myself to have the inside line in the last corner. Assuming his car was in decent shape Havoc should have been able to set up to pass me. Instead he stuck on the outside and tried to run parallel to me. Might have worked on lap 2, no way on lap 10. Either way it's the slow way around and he probably wouldn't have been able to get it done. If I understand racing etiquette he should have yielded.

Race 1 was entirely my fault. I didn't consider the wind and took my usual line through the high speed left under the bridge. As soon as my car started to roll I hit SHIFT S but there was lag somewhere and it took a second before I spectated.

Sucks, could have used some points tonight.

What's up with the new guys? In my experience it's a bad idea to allow drivers to join a season in progress because they're not committed to the long term point outcome and are more likely to try risky maneuvers.

I just did some testing and I'm easily running 51.8s - are you guys on Quaaludes or something?

edit - that's 2:51.8 - nevermind
Nice cut-n-paste.

Ted, nice setup! Doesn't look very comfortable though. My teammate Al Payson often takes his G25 on the road with him. I've seen him driving from all over South America and Europe. The photos he posted all showed a desk or table and a proper chair though. That ottoman has to be tough on the back after a while.

Thanks for letting me win guys, that's a real morale booster. Top 3 finishers each scored 36 points so no relative change there this week. JayEyeBee is probably a bit smarter than the rest of us- he was able to skip ahead to the consumption phase of the event while still scoring decent points.

Dan, thanks for the set. All I did is crank the F/R diff 5 clicks to the rear. Suspension settings were fabulous, easy to steer with the pedals. I've been struggling every race with front tires due to lousy turn-in and I think you've shown me the key to getting the balance right.

My vote for Rusty Screw has to go to Boothy for disconnecting from the lead. I was gaining on him and really looked forward to the battle.

Quote from JayEyeBee :Yeah, the end of race 1 was pretty fun.
Sorry, Gil. At the time I didn't think my move was that bad, but after review, I decided that was a brutal chop.

I wouldn't call it a chop at all. I was slow going in to be faster out. Unfortunately you were the opposite. It actually caught me off guard when I accelerated and you didn't. If I had anticipated that I could probably have held Ted back. Was lots of fun though. I was surprised that I was able to re-pass you, but my fronts were like Silly Putty by then.

Race 2 was better because I tweaked the set for tire life (duh). The incident with that showoff Boothy probably cost him the win. I haven't reviewed the replay but I did have the line and the position, and I left as much room as my POS car would allow. Probably was just a wee too early for him to try the pass, he coud have done it easily down the straight.

Fun race mostly, except for the fact that we're driving these wallowy 2 ton chick cars. See you next week.

Good pickup racing here. Admin is patient with noobies but doesn't let too much BS take place. Racing overall is clean and competitive. :revs:

Try out the rally server too - usually not enough people on there.
Bleeaaargh!

Clearly I should have spent some time on set development and tire temps.

Looking forward to rally next week.

Damn, I'm not that old! The fuel estimator said .7/lap so I did that and added a bit extra. As I coasted slowly into the pits frantically increasing the refuel amount, I saw that the estimate was now .9/lap. The real bad luck was that my suspension and body damage added 25 seconds onto the stop.

I had a hell of a time with the set for this race. Any set that handled OK just broke to pieces over the infield jump. Considering the awful handling of the set I finally went with I'm OK with the 6th/3d result.

Fun racing, looking forward to next week.
