Mentioned in another thread were it was in serious danger of being dragged off topic and into glorifying Liverpool achievements this season (I know it's hard to believe that it hasn't fallen apart yet, soon though soon.) Please talk about all things, national/international/local as long as it's football related then post here.

Anyway I'll start things off by looking forward to this Sunday's Challenge Cup final in Scotland. The mighty Ross County will be taking on the Airdrie Utd (or Airdire according to sky sports :really. It's being played at McDirmand Park and involves a 10 hour round trip for myself (4 hours down, 6 hours back up including stops for beer and chips......mainly beer)

I was at the final 2 years ago were County beat Clyde in penalties, and enjoyed the experience, i was also in the final 2 years before that were County lost......hated that game. If anyone is interested the game is being covered by BBC ALBA, Sky channel 165 (I think) but you might need the use of subtitles as the commentary will be in Gaelic, still an improvement on James Allan though.

Oh To Be A Staggie.

Shh...we know that's true, but let us keep dreaming, it's the only thing that keep Liverpool supporters going, before the inevitable Man Utd comeback to with the league from 50 points behind at Christmas

If i talk our chances down enough we might actually........ meh, who am i kidding

Well thats the big question isnt it? Is anyone outside of Scotland interested?

I could pop down the local park and probably watch football of a better standard :hidesbehi

meh, i think thats were we got most of our first team.....but I don't care. For me County are my local team and i would truthfully prefer to watch them over some over-payed central midfielder who writes in his autobiography (which he wrote at 26 ffs) about his how he dislikes players diving, yet does the exact same thing at any given moment. And dare i remind you of the Scottish influx into Liverpool that gave you all those trophies so so long ago.

To be honest i think some times the lower the quality of the player, the better the entertainment the game can be. I have enjoyed more games in the Highland league/Scottish lower divisions than I have watching the EPL/SPL (last weekend's Arsenal v Man Utd game excluded)

Mon the wee teams
Hoffenheim Champions League winner 2009/2010!!

Have you even heard of them outside of Germany yet?

All absolutely agreed with. (except the Gerrard bit. He's simply awesome. He may be a hypocritical dick, but i don't care about him as a person, just as a footballer. )

I know what your saying about the lower divisions being more entertaining a lot of the time (i was of course only having a little banter with you )
When i lived in Exeter i used to go and watch City all the time. Great days.

Best of luck to County then, hope you get a good result and have a great day!
I support Newcastle United, so this year I went from being a happy little magpie, to roadkill that wanted to rip open Mike Ashleys skull and vomit out of his eye sockets. The only thing that will cheer me up this season is a decent owner realising if they gave Keegan complete control of his squad, Newcastle would be back up into the top 6 within 2 seasons, and back fighting with the top 4 after 3 seasons.

yeah I know, and as a token of banter I provide you a video of a County player taking a ridiculous dive, once again proving that nobody cons the ref worse than the Brits...fast forward to 2:10

@ zeugnimod - i have actually heard of them, in fact in FM08 I took them into Europe........it was a pre-season tour of Ireland, but still Europe nevertheless.

What he said, every word of it! And that's before I get on to Dennis '****face' Wise
Ah yes, a short angry man who did more to define the word average than Savage ever has, he showed a lack of talent and a lack of intelligence in every area of his life, but he is obviously better than Keegan who is the only manager to even get Newcastle close to winning anything. Newcastle need to do what Spurs did, bring in Keegan, go back to the proper English management system, and kick out that Wise prick.

Speaking of the Magpies, how do you rate Micheal Owen?
Quote from JJ72 :Speaking of the Magpies, how do you rate Micheal Owen?

For the money spent on him we could have bought a new defense and played Martins up front supported by Viduka, which would have given us plenty of goals. I rated Owen highly when he was at Liverpool, but then he got injuries and buggered off to sit on the Real Madrid bench. Personally I've heard he gambles a lot, and that is something I despise, when you have that much money you can give it to better places than casinos.
Go Bears!!!1

lol
4 - 2, whats going on? I know its only the Carling cup, but we needed to get one over on spurs. Bolton at the weekend, lets get back to business with the real job.

I dont imagine hes a regular at the bookies.

He actually owns horse stables breeding and selling race horses. He bought his first horse while he was at 'pool , when we did the League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup treble, it went on to win a number of races.

He also owns a large property portfolio aswell.

Oh To Be A Staggie.

I will be there cheering on the County. Last saw County on a freezing cold Feb night beating Brechin 2-1. Should be a good game I hope!

Hey another Staggie, are you going down or coming up to Perth? As for the game, it shall be close, hopefully with a load of chances from both teams, showing the rest of Scotland(maybe even the UK) that 1st division football is where the enterniment is, if not the money.

Down from Aberdeen. My best mate is a County nut and got me into them. The tales of David Winters when he was knocking in the goals a good few years ago, were always amusing.

I was actually surprised when I went the last time how well Derek Adams had them playing. Even if Allan Creer was reaaaaally bad. They mostly kept the ball on the ground, unlike Brechin who just humped the ball long.

I hope its like the CIS cup game which was a rather good game I gather...

Yes they will fall away. Bayern still doing shite?

I was hoping no one was going to bring that up It may have been mostly our second string team, but it simply wasn't good enough. Still, at least we lost to a premier league team who are on the up, which is more than can be said for Chelsea

I must have fallen asleep when he scored cause all I remember is the lazy a-hole being caught offside. As for Creer, well he was a bombscare, but the style we now play is fantastic. Style and Panache all the way.

Personally I hope it's nothing like the CIS game, Airdrie were good in that game, too good (I assume you're talking about the game earlier this year)

But you came up agaisnt a team who are in the process of getting back to where they should be, in other words the Harry factor.
