Great news! How could it be? O.O...oh wait
Quote from RS1T :so many people complain that there arnt any real cars in lfs. Look past their fictional names and you will see that some of them are pretty real

XRG/T - Mitsubishi Starion

RB4 - Toyota supra

LX4/6 - Caterham/westfield

And they will keep complaining until we see some Real cars.

So what if the lfs cars "look like real cars"?!?!That doesn't mean that it has real cars.

Well, in rFactor (and other sims) a real looking car is enough to make it real

I think that you didn't understand what i meant.

What i meant is that lfs has only cars that look a bit like real cars.
Quote from LFSn00b :the LX4 is almost an exact copy of a westfield

what the hells a westfield mazda mx-5? tristan driving an LX?

No car in a computer game is ever going to be real. It's just a bunch of pixels.

What about FBM? BF1? RAC? Are those fictional too?
Quote from March Hare :What about FBM? BF1? RAC? Are those fictional too?

No.. and the MRT is real too.. people should stop complaining..
But they only LOOK like the real versions. When are we going to get actual real cars in LFS that we can touch and polish etc? I don't want pixel representations anymore!
I dont care if the car is real or no, i simply enjoy its lfs physics and driving with it. Of course, just when lfs entertain me itself. cuz there are some days when i am really bored about that, but also some days when i am simply relaxing and racing/drifting.
Quote from LFSn00b :look at the wheels...

Go to Flyin' Miata to have some information on this project.

This is a Westfield like car, made from scratch, using a modded miata 1600cc for the NA6C version (maybe 1800 form the NA8C though, not sure). That's why it has the miata rims. So basically, what is similar to the miata is : the engine.
The rims are there because they are light and can be taken from the donor miata

Hmm, I'm pretty sure this has to be like the hundredth topic about "zomg the xrt looks like a starion lolz wut!111oneleven"

I heard this Sirocco might actually look like a Sirocco

It's not a 'westfield like car', it is a kit produced by Westfield, using an MX-5 donor. Flyin' Miata are the official distributor of this Westfield kit in the US, not the designers of the kit. Of course, since they make turbo Miatas, Flyin' Miata have a turbo on their Westfield I have a friend with a Flyin' Miata kit on his miata and he makes 260rwhp...that's fast enough... that kind of power in a Westfield, man it would go like shit off a shovel!

As for the topic of this discussion, great to see this being discussed again, I'm sure it's been at least a month since the last thread

you are all complete idiots and are missing the point of this thread. The idea of this thread was just comparing cars in lfs to their real life counterparts. Shame on you all
Quote from [UKR] Race King :What i meant is that lfs has only cars that look a bit like real cars.

Do you expect real cars to be delivered to you from buying a computer game? The FBM, BF1, MRT, RAC (and soon, the Scirocco) are all real-world cars.

Congratulations on an original idea.

Hahahaha. Then you are a complete idiot because this has been discussed DOZENS of times in the past. LFS was first released in 2002... for you to think that in the past 6 years and 2 months that nobody would have thought to start a thread discussing how the LFS cars compare to real life cars says a lot about you...
Quote from RS1T :you are all complete idiots

Well atleast I wasn't the one who started this thread without doing a search.

@Sponge
Damn! Forgot the MRT again. Well in my defence it's so small and easy to miss.
What are the odds this sort of thread gets one or more mfg's knocking on Scavier's door about copyrights?
Real cars? I'm much more concerned about real tracks made by the community or dev's.

I'm not saying that the LFS tracks are bad but it would make the sim that much better.
no, it woudn't. It woudn't make the sim better, just have more content. If it's real or fake, it doesn't matter. What a sim aims for is the feeling of the car, the car to do what someone would spect a real car to do, etc.
