Quote from AndroidXP :Or you can force everyone to run 1024x768...or 1280x1024 (which a good amount of TFT owners use, but noone with a CRT does).

Quote from Crommi :1280x1024 ain't bad option because even most CRTs can use it even if it's wrong aspect ratio...

What?

My CRT:
Quote :
Displays a maximum resolution of 1792x1344; 1280x1024 optimal resolution at 80Hz flicker-free refresh rate for easy-on-the-eyes viewing.
1792x1344 @ 61Hz
1600x1200 @ 68Hz
1280x1024 @ 80Hz

If I use 1280x960, the picture is distorted.
1680*1050 :d
1440*900
1600x1200
Id like to have more, but my monitor (CRT) wont allow it.
Quote from bbman :LCDs generally aren't burdened with flickering, only CRTs are...

Yeah, they just have tearing. :P

Rubbish. That's just poor specs on the site. It should be:

1792x1344 @ 61Hz
1600x1200 @ 68Hz
1280x960 @ 80Hz
1152x864 @ 94Hz

If the picture is distorted, then you just stretch the image with the calibration settings until it isn't. Running at 1280x1024 without little black bars down the side will be distorted.
1680 x 1050 @ 60Hz

A bit big for the graphics card, but ok if I turn off AA/AF.

not sure it has some pretty funky specs:
Dot Pitch 0.21mm horizontal, 0.14mm vertical
4440x1080
2560 x 1600 one screen (not a TV)

*have a second but it is smaller so can't stretch LFS on to it (not that I would want to anyways).
Blurred several-years-old 15'' CRT at 1024x768@60Hz.
1920*1440
1680x1050, seems there are a lot of ppl still using older CRT's at low res, we may have to stick to a low resolution.
1440x900 here.
1680*1050
1920x1200 @ 120hz. x2
1024*768@72hz (real screen size - 13.8 inches )

60hz for crt is insane imo
1600x1200 @ 60Hz
What's with the constant need to compare your FPS to his FPS etc?

As long as it's playable, smooth and you're happy with how it looks, who really cares?
I'm on 2560*1600.

It amazes me how many makes that mistake - especially ppl who work with gfx
24in screen at 1920x1200 is the max, and it's what I run.
1280x1024 on my desktop, which is the computer I use for most of my LFS racing being where I set up my wheel. However, I run 1440x900 on my laptop (more powerful than my tower) and do use LFS from time to time, check races, skins, kb drive, etc.
I've got 1440x900 on one monitor and 1080p on my HDTV. I only use the HDTV for LFS, movies, hi-def gaming, and showboating .
1680x1050 here.

You can get a good 22" lcd screen for around 300 dollars with this resolution.

If you can spend more, you could go for a 24" with full HD for novicably more.

I'd really suggest you look into samsung screens, imo they are the bang for the buck.
