Quote from Becky Rose :Hmm, well i've said already i'm not going to the effort of flying over to compete on an outdoor track in a cadet kart. They dont have enough horsepower for the heavier folk to compete on an even playing field on an outdoor track - and i'm not so enthused by karting indoors that i'd fly to another country to do it.

Cost? Meh, you get what you pay for. I got an airfare to pay, when this is held there will be travel, a meal, drinks, possibly even accomodation. The cost of racing pro karts versus the cost of racing cadets isnt an issue.

The age thing, well, you can be inclusive and race on kiddy karts - losing the heavier folks and be home in time for the end of nursery. Or you can race on adult karts and have a night out too and stuff.

A decision needs to be made.

EDIT: Oh and driving style, um, seriously, when you get in a race car you should acclimatise to it in 2-3 laps, and more or less have a track learned in about 8 laps. You should be able to adapt back on your morning installation shake-down when you arrive at the track for your next test day.

I respect what a women likes you talks about Becky. You know what you are saying and thats a good thing. But what are you driving when not Cadetting???

I don't cadet! ;p

I descovered LFS whilst recovering from injuries sustained in my last kart race and then had life stuff happen and never got back on the track. I'd like to return to racing one day, either karts or some old timers series, but i've no aspirations to be professional or anything.

On the road I dont drive anymore. I have recently taken to cycling as a means of recovering my health after said life stuff happened.

I asked every interested person what they voted for, because I forgot to make this poll public. The results from the PM are as you can see in the printscreen.

Not everyone has voted yet. They didn't respond to the message I sent.

If I'm already going to another country, I don't care where in that country I'm going. I'll leave it to the locals to pick the best place to go. That's why I'm not voting.
Okay, merci beaucoup.

He has! The list is a bit larger: not everything fitted on the screenshot.

I would like to have you moterheads kick my butt on a karting track.

What tracks did you vote for? I made a seperate poll, in which I keep track of who voted what.
Driebergen is central and outdoor, so will do for me.

When is this taking place?
Great initiative!

I am interested but won't commit to it yet.

I voted for Driebergen

There's another thread on this topic. Most likely June 2009.
Yeah but if we go to Driebergen im not coming!
I'd rather spend my money on driving my own kart at Berghem then driving with cadet karts on a noob track. It is the truth.

From what I read from you here, I won't mourn your absence.

It's 14 for Berghem against 11 for Driebergen, according to my PM poll.

If we end up going to Berghem and you show up with your own cart, won't you just blow us out of the water with your own cart compared to us all who will be driving with the local track carts?!

If this will be the case, then I don't think its very sportsmanlike of you. Please correct me if I am wrong!
aye no-one is racing with their own kart. If we're going down that route we end up not stopping at karts... It's rentals all round. Else i'd have to call in favours and bring a whole works factory team! (actually no because even favours have a cost associated, but you get the point I hope).

I thought this meet was for fun and socialising. I am pretty sure I will carry the red lantern whatever material I get but that will not stop me from taking part. Childish behaviour like yours might however...
